Odd fit up top

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

This did not work out for me at all. I have a feeling it would be awesome on a larger chested lady, but it puckered and wrinkled on me in all of the wrong places. I ordered a small, because my shoulders are fairly wide compared to the rest of my body, but this shirt was totally baggy everywhere. I am 5'6", 110 pounds, and pretty flat chested for reference. It was a cute color and it seemed really well made, so if you have a large chest go for it!

women's Lightweight merino t shirt

I purchased 4 merino tops before a long trip I took earlier this summer and this was the only shirt I returned. I didn't have issues with the fit, it was because I couldn't pull off the pickled ginger color. (it looked bad with my skin coloring)

    1. I sized up, I'm normally a small but went for a medium because I have worn patagonia in the past and don't need my shirt glued to my back when im sweatin' bullets. I just like it a bit loose.
    2. I have a larger chest and with a sports bra this shirt is fine. There is no puckering. I don't think I would even wear this shirt just lounging around the house, its for doing stuff in.
    3. It had a really nice detail in the hem line that made it a bit more unique than the other competitors shirts.

overall, its a great shirt- super high quality (as expected) but if it came in gray or black, id buy it again.

Who is this meant to fit?

Read the last review which complained about the poor fit for women with smaller breasts and so I figured that would probably make it a great fit for women with larger breasts. Apparently not... I had some strange wrinkles under the breasts and also some fabric to the sides.

Fabric is great and I personnaly like the scalloped hem and gathered shoulder which make it more versatile to go about town and go hiking with. Unfortunately, without the contrasting two colour effect, the scalloped hem on the black shirt looks very strange. Dont know why they went uni-colour for that one.

Basically, I would recomened this only if you are able to try this on before purchasing!

      Good fabric, but poor fit

I wear merino shirts year round, and when I saw Patagonia put out new colors for the merino 2 tee, I immediately ordered one. Alas I am very disappointed. First the good. The fabric is pretty awesome. It's lightweight, similar to the Icebreaker tech tee lite (which is 150 g/m2). It'll be very adequate for the summer (I'm talking 90F). My husband's merino 2 t-shirts have taken him trail running in the heat of summer and never smelled. And I have the merino 2 zip neck from last season and love it for cool summer runs and hikes.

Fit-wise, it's where it really disappoints. Unless you are very well endowed, you will not fill the chest area, leaving extra fabric dangling under the armpits. I'm a A cup, and ordered my usual size. Everywhere else fits perfect, but there is simply too much fabric at the bust - too much fabric! I also ordered Pati's merino 1 shirt, which is a much simpler, classic looking t-shirt, and love it. I thought Patagonia is all about form follows function. What's up w/ the highly stylized design?! Yes I'm talking about the gathered shoulder, scalloped hem, and extra fabric at the bust.
