You’ll be able to leave your big backpack in the hostel and throw the Patagonia Lightweight Travel Sling Bag over your shoulder when you go exploring in Southeast Asia. Double-ripstop fabric provides excellent tear resistance in case you run into sharp objects when perusing the market. This lightweight bag packs into its own stuff pocket for storage in your bigger backpack when you move on to the next destination. If you keep this sling bag out while you hop on trains and planes, you can stash your passport and cash in the internal organization pocket.

A little thin in the skin but you know.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great sling in my onion. I was doing some hiking up by the caves of Lethluria, kind of near Meerkat Manor and I wanted something light for dayhikes. This one fit the bill. It is very thin material light the Patagonia houdini rainshell/windbreaker and also packs quite small. I plan on doing more prime number hikes and this is great for dicking around for a few hours i.e. snacks, H20 bottle, cellphone, 1stAid. Pockets are convenient, also good for cycling and does NOT look like a woman pursue esp. if bought in black. ALWAYS BET ON BLACK. Quite good for jaunts to the farmers market if you don't need a ton of items.

Packs to nothing

Great for light use, and its great to bring along on bigger trips for casual side jaunts. I already have a small hole in mine after some serious bushwacking, but not really the bag's fault. I do think it could be a little more stable, but then again you could keep it in your pocket.

    60 miles or bust...

My friend & I both purchased the bag to use in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk. We carried it 20 miles each day & it was the perfect fit... Lightweight, roomy, separate zipper pocket for cash/phone, easy access outside pocket for water bottle! Couldn't have completed my 60 miles without it! Thanks Patagonia &

      Sling bag's a winner

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had the bag for two weeks now and use it everyday, mostly as a purse and knitting bag combined. Love the way I can set it in the passenger seat of the car and reach my sunglasses without looking away from the road. The zippers are arranged so that nothing falls out no matter how you move when you are using it.

      Love It

This bag is perfect, I love it.
I have used this for day to day errands, hiking, and have worn it while riding my bike.
It is the perfect size for my day planner, cell phone, water bottle and all other small necessities. It will fit a packable jacket and some snacks as well as a couple beers for a hike!
This is super comfortable and sits great. I love that it leaves my hands free to do what I need. I would recommend this to others.

Would this bag be ideal for anti-theft...

Would this bag be ideal for anti-theft purposes? Like any features that prevent slashing of the material by something like a pocket knife?

Lightweight Travel Atom here might not be the best anti-slashing/theft bag as it's designed to be super lightweight and packable. The regular Atom from Patagonia might have a little more heft to it and work better to protect your belongings.
