Barely used it 4-5 times. Already falling a part at the straps and has a hole in it. Really poor product from a great company like Patagonia. I'm returning for refund. Stay away. It you want to use it to carry air, then you should be fine. Anything other than air and good luck. Mine couldn't handle a pair of shorts, some New Balance minimus shoes, a t-shirt, some socks, a cell phone and wallet. Also ordered their light weight backpack from Patagonia. Haven't used it but not even going to try. Returning.

This doesn't have the backpack straps like the older model. The older one looks good for lightweight travel. Will you be making another one with backpack straps?

Billy, the handle straps are designed to function as backpack straps as well to lighten up the duffle even more, and do a pretty good job of it actually, and make the entire bag even lighter.

How would this bag do as a primary duffel which gets checked on the airlines?

It should be fine as a checked bag. I think it would take the abuse.

I'd lean more towards the Black Hole Duffel collection if you're going to check it, this would probably take the abuse ok, but it's much better as a carry-on.
