Qualify on your own merit.

Throw on the Patagonia Lightweight Merino Run Quarter Sock and get out there to qualify for the Boston. The combination of merino wool, nylon, and spandex fabric wicks moisture away from your foot and provides durability, so you can train like there's no tomorrow. A mesh arch brace helps to keep everything in place, and Lintoe flatseam construction prevents chafing and irritation around your toes.

  • Merino wool, nylon, and spandex
  • Quarter-length height
  • Footbed cushioning

Here's what others have to say...

Too Thick

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size
  • Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 170 lbs
    Size Purchased: XL

I bought these socks purely for running. I prefer a very lightweight sock. The description specifies "lightweight," but compared to Smartwool lightweight socks, these are much thicker. All that being said, they perform well as socks, but I won't use them as running socks again.

Uncomfortable on the trail

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

Typically love Patagonia, especially their trail shorts, but not of these socks. I start getting hot spots on the bottom inside of my soles after just 2 miles, when I switch to Bridgedale all those problems disappear. Feels to me like there's much more material than a typical light cushion sock. These stay at the bottom of my drawer.
