The lightweight, ultra-breathable softshell Patagonia Men's Light Smoke Jacket keeps the snow off your back without causing you to overheat during an afternoon of backcountry riding. This jacket is windproof and water-repellent enough for 95% of situations, and has all the essential features without adding weight or bulk. Unlike most true softshells, however, this jacket is not lined and does not insulate. It is cut roomy enough to allow for layering underneath, like you would with a traditional hard shell. Unlike a hardshell though, this jacket is very breathable and stretchy, meaning you can wear it in thick of winter with a fleece underneath or alone over a baselayer in the spring.
