I bought this jacket because I don't like to ski cold. Just got down from skiing SOLITUDE Ski resort. Temperature 0 and wind chill of -9. The jacket was nice and toasty. Insulation really kept me warm. It is a little heavier than most jackets but still not bulky.
Have skied twice in this jacket with temperatures around 0. All I need to say is that my toes were cold. The jackets insulation is great for those cold days. The only thing I wish is that it was wider around the neck area (I see this alot in many jackets.) Can't fully close the zipper when I have my next gator on. But other than that this jacket is warm and you wont be cold. I also love the size of it. Good arm length and not to tight in the arm pits. I am 6'4 and 230. Hope that helps.sr
Hey, I looking for some fit advice. I'm a lanky and long-armed fellow (6'3", 170 lbs, 35" sleeve, 40" chest); sort of long-distance runner's build. Does anyone have any sizing advice? I'm worried that a large will be too baggy and a medium might be too short in the torso and sleeves. Any suggestions or sizing experience will be appreciated. Cheers!
I think Large should do it for you actually. Definitely not a medium. Doubt the large would be too baggy at all really. If you went XL it might be a little baggy, with some extra length... hope this helps!

I think that this jacket has just the right amount of insulation. In 25 degree weather, just an underarmour and light fleece; in 0 degree weather, added a vest and was more than enough.
The only criticism I have is that the cut of the jacket is a little big. I'm 5"11, 165 lbs, 40 chest, and 32 waist and the medium is pretty baggy. I would have liked a little trimer cut.
I tried the Primo Jacket and it fit smaller than this one in the arm pits and sleeves. I returned the jacket and got this one. Very much like this one. Very warm and it fits. I am 6'4 and 230.
The main difference is the Insulated Powder Bowl here is uses synthetic insulation, and the Primo Down has a 700 fill down sweater essentially sewn right in. The Primo Down's exterior fabric is slightly more technical and high perfomance. Both offer a similar fit, and feature package. Both are great jackets, you can't go wrong.
I purchased this jacket in Red and size Large for my husband who is 59, 180 lbs, 42 chest, and 34 sleeve. The sleeves of the jacket first appear to be so long that I almost wanted to return it. After my husband tried it, he liked it and decided to keep it. He wore it during our vacation in Whistler this month and it worth every penny. The appeared-to-be-too-long sleeves actually overlapping perfectly when he wore the ski gloves and his wrists were covered at all time. The functionality and workmanship of the jacket are excellent. I want a jacket to work for the sport as well as an everyday outerwear and the insulated powder bowl jacket from Patagonia delivers both.
great jacket ! i am a smaller guy - only 140lbs - and 5'9" - i got a "M" in red - and man - it is bright! but in a good way- i am a little concerned about it being to big - but i think i am going to say with teh size i got so i can layer if needed!
construction of the jacket is top quality! to powder skirt fits my waist perfict on the second snap - and i have a 30" wasit. sleves are a little long - but velcro makes them fit well.
