Super Light Weight. Does the job

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Size Bought: Large

I wish I had this rain jacket on the JMT. It's so light. I ordered a large so that I can layer. I wore it in a downpour in Pittsburgh, PA. Stayed dry. I love it.

Always have this on me

The Houdini is awesome because it packs up tiny - I keep one in my bag, and I'm thinking about getting another for the car. It's not waterproof, but it'll do in light rain. True to size, cut is flattering. It's SUPER light, so I don't really wear it for warmth.

    Uber-light jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

This is a great, incredibly light shell jacket. Great for rainy or windy day, and if you are in the bay area where fog lurks always around the corner, this will fit in your purse or bag and always be a welcome layering piece. The maroon (oxblood red) color is a great one - goes with just about everything I own.

    Just the right amount

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I bought this jacket as a gift for my mom. She takes the dog out on runs in the early morning when the temperature is pleasant but cool. She wanted a super light weight jacket that could handle being caught in a light rain storm, move freely with the body and offer some protection from the sun on the shoulders. This has become a go to jacket. She will usually wear one layer underneath.

    Ultralight Coverup!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I've only used it a few times so far, but this jacket is awesome. Its small enough to stuff in your pocket and weighs next to nothing, but is still burly enough to keep 40 mph winds off your sweaty back as you hit the summit!

    Not for ladies with hips

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small

I planned on using this as a lightweight addition to a day pack for hiking in the unpredictable Texas falls/springs. I know I'm pear shaped, but this is EXTREMELY narrow in the hips. The chest and arm length was perfect, but it was a solid three inches away from zipping around my hips. Ladies, if you have hips, this jacket may not offer the cut you need. The color and feel were great, however.

    Lightweight and stylish and DWR!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

    I love this jacket.
    It is light and stylish.
It doesn't have a pocket but I understand they cut the pocket to make it lighter.
    love it.

    The Go anywhere Windshell

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

This wind shell is light, blocks the wind, and looks good while doing it. My wife gets cold year round and the winds in the Virginia Highlands don't help matters especially in late fall and early spring. When you get up in the morning and get going, throwing on this shell will help cut the wind and get your warmed up, and then be light and compact enough to throw into a hip belt pocket and forget about it until your lunch break.

    Perfect feel, fit, function!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small

    I am a size 4/6 in Lululemon/S in Patagonia/XS in North Face.
I got a size small in this jacket and it fits perfectly. I wouldn't want to wear a baggy long sleeve shirt under this, it would be too tight. But a base layer, short sleeve, or tank would be fine. The material is thin, breathes well, and the cut is comfortable.

    Great addition to your closet!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

It packs up so sweet and you can bust it out in a flash. Looking forward to using it this winter over a fleece base layer for some winter biking. I've been using it for cooler shaded times and light rain. Does great for a light layer. I sized up for a layer.

    Exceeding expectations

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

I have had this jacket for a month or two and have already gotten such great use from it. It is BEYOND PERFECT for stuffing into a bike pack, camera pack, day pack, etc. But especially a bike pack because it is SO SMALL and SO LIGHT.

I can wear it around a windy trailhead, and perhaps start pedaling with it on, and then shove it in my pack when I start to heat up. Then pull it out again at the top of a climb for wind protection on the descent. It can even be useful in a light rain if you didn't bother to bring a full on rain jacket (I'm not saying it's waterproof, but it will certainly do a better job at protection vs your skin and tank top).

On cooler days I have been quit comfortable pedaling uphill in this jacket, too.

    LOVE IT.

    Patagonia delivers. As usual!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

I bought this to replace a Patagonia pullover windbreaker that I've had for 17 years, used primarily for running. (It didn't wear out, mind you. I had purchased it to have a baggy fit, consistent with how I used to dress for running then, and I decided I wanted one with a slimmer fit. Styles change before Patagonia stuff wears out!) When I pulled this jacket out of the package, I couldn't believe that it could possibly block the wind, given how thin and light the fabric is. But this Patagonia product does what it says it will do! It helped keep me comfortable running in 15+ mph winds in Chicago in springtime (read: not warm, around 40F), with just a baselayer underneath. It folds up super small and takes up no room in a bag. My only suggestion would be to have a loop or something to tie down the hood (don't always need it), but I get around that by just tucking it in. Fits TTS. Great product, highly recommend.

    Rad jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

ive worn this jacket on rainy days riding my bike to work, running in the rain, windy days around work campus, or just that fresh cilly day and having a little extra to wear. its such a versatile jacket, fits perfectly. i have plenty of room to move around when im doing active stuff. the breathability is really good.

i got the green colour and its just cool, really different. initally i was hesitant on the price but now its been worth every penny.

i often dont leave the house without this coat.

Go to light jacket for me....

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I literally pack this jacket everywhere I go. It's so small and light and easy to carry with you, so why not? You never know when it will get a bit chilly or windy on a run, hike, bike ride, etc. It's even a great layering piece for going out and about in the cooler hours of the early morning or late evening summertime where I live. There are a lot of great colors to choose from as well. I love the bright grassy green I have (no longer there) and hope/wish that Patagonia continues to make more vivid colors for their women's gear. Women don't always want to wear pastels. They like bright and bold too. I always keep this in my carry on when I travel too.

    Great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I really like this jacket, the colors are terrific (I got the yellow) and it is well made. I kind of wish there was a pocket though.

    Lightweight and functional

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Great little jacket to have. I got it to use for running, and it worked in the current cold weather with just throwing a base layer underneath. Moderates temperature well and the bright color (Oasis Blue) helps pesky motorists see you. Will have to see how it handles in the other seasons.

How well does this wash? I want to use it for both biking and running--which means it's going to get dirty and smelly. Anyone have experience with how well it recovers after a wash?

Does this jacket offer any sun protection?
