I love these pants!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pants are amazing... I wear them all year round, but mainly during the winter. I enjoy running in the snow and refuse to let the cold keep me from working out. Where I live.. it can get into the negatives but these pants (paired with tights) keep me toasty warm. The soft shell prevents any water from seeping in and I stay dry all winter long... HUZZAH! The zippered pockets are great... especially for carrying pepper spray to fend off possible attackers! The only thing that I am slightly disappointed with is the fit... I ordered a medium (I have a bad habit of doing this) and the pants are a little big (I am 5'6", 130 Ibs)... but that makes them more comfortable.. and thank God there is a drawstring... because these babies would be falling down without 'em (and that would cause a bad time). Regardless, I love these pants!

Awesome, simple softshell pant!

I like these pants a lot. They are warm yet breathable (and stretchy!), so they're great for active days in winter and spring - especially for anything involving climbing or a lot of sweat (backcountry tours, ice climbing, snowshoeing, etc.). They're really simple - 2 zippered pockets in front, and that's it. You just slide them on. If I want more complicated pants, I can always wear my regular ski pants. These are great because they do what they're supposed to do, are light/pack nicely, and have very few components to them that could fail.

As far as fit goes, these pants are definitely built for an athletic body. I have pretty muscular legs, along with a small butt, straight waist and hips, and the pants fit just right. Those with curvier physiques may want to look elsewhere.

    For warmer, cold weather days

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

the material is stretchy with 2 side zippered pockets. They have no gaiter, but have holes on each side at the bottom with a little metal circle in the hole, like the eye of a hole for shoelaces, the size of a hole punch, that you could run your shoe string through to keep them down and over the boot if you didn't have gaiters or if you didn't want the bulk of gaiters, if snow is involved. They have no zipper, snap or button at the waist, but a little elastic in the waist, so you have to pull them over your hips. I think they will be water repellent, but I wouldn't sit in the snow for a long time and hope to keep dry. I put that they run small, but they really run true to size- a little small. They have a flattering fit for a curvy athletic body type.

these pants fit well with room for layering and are very very water and wind resistant, dare i say proof. never gotten cold nor soaked through in the 2 yrs. i have been wearing them to trail run, hike, dog walk, and bike through rain and snow. they are quiet, comfy lightly elasticized waist, and feature zip front pockets. my model has the logo on the back rather than front, but, these soft shells, like all of my PATAGONIA gear, are quality and worth every cent. i am between a 6-10 and the small fit my athletic 5'7" self. i was flattered! they also wash up easily - inside out and hung dry of course.
