I love boots!

I use these boots for hiking in the snow and for snowshoeing. They are not especially warm unless you are on the move. They are wonderful in that they are like a pair of lightweight tennis shoes. Fit into snowshoes perfectly. Great traction on the ice and in the snow. We just had a inch of ice and they were the only shoes I could stay on my feet in.

Is this good for cold weather and to what degree does one's feet stay warm? I'm moving to Alaska and I'll need some cold weather gear.
    Thank you,

    Pamela

I purchased these boots about a 6 weeks ago, and since then I have been able to use them through a major snow storm which left a couple feet of snow on the ground. These boots have been nothing short of fantastic, keeping my feet warm as well as dry. By some miracle they also seem to breathe well and I am able to wear them in my office, so cozy they feel like slippers. They are also very lightweight, and feel more like a great pair of well-worn sneakers. I walk in severe winter weather on daily basis and these boots have been comfortable and provide great support. I wear them with a layer of tights and winter socks, and this seems to provide a fantastic fit, although I have found that I can adjust the laces if I were to wear thinner socks. These are the winter boots that I have been waiting for.

we are going snow mobiling in Wyoming...are these the choice for hiking and walking in wyoming> How cold are they suggested for?

that boot would be a great choice. primaloft is an excellent insulator, and that boot is basically a take on the original Sorel which is good to very low temps. if you size appropriately and wear a midweight to heavy weight wool hiking sock, you'll be able to brave some really cold conditions with toasty feet.
