Here's what others have to say...

Runs big and wide, but comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

Originally I got these in my usual shoe size but then had to exchange for a full size smaller. They are wide and flat, so if you have narrow feet i would keep looking. I wore them first day out of the box on a full day at work on my feet all day and the were comfortable and stylish. The Thatcher is darker than the picture and I would say closer to a walnut. Soft great texture, initial impressions would get again.

Super Comfy and Stylish

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I got these for my boyfriend and he loves them. They are super comfy and the soles and nice and grippy. He can wear them all day in the shop tuning skis or clean them up and put on a nice pair of pants for dinner. He wears a 10.5 and said they are true to size.

Business Cas or hanging out

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These shoes are great for business casual and or just hanging out. They are comfortable and have a conforming footbed. They look great with a pair of slacks or just hanging out for a casual night. The walnut is a rich brown and very neutral. They lighten up over time and get more of a light chestnut color. They are true to size in my opinion. I wear a 10.5 in most footwear and these are par for the course.

Comfortable and roomy

I was a little worried when I first put them on the soles were making a pretty loud squeaking noise whenever I walked on a wood floor, after about a day the squeak wore off and they were fine. I'm a size 11 and they are true to their size with some extra room in the toe which I like. I got the brown velvet which look lighter in person than the photo depicts. I agree they do look a little clowney and I've dubbed them my Ronald McDonalds.

Solid shoe, true to size

The size 11 ran true to size for my husband. Very comfortable shoe (but as other's have remarked) not a lot of arch support. You have to commit to the style (which I loved, but which my husband thought looked a bit clowney).

Great - Comfortable

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Recently purchased these shoes for casual wear and wok. Extremely cmfortable for level-ground walking. Leather quality seems to be nice and takes leather treatment well.

I agree with the previous reviewer who stated that the internal footbed that they come with is slightly lacking but it's been fine for me to this point.

I also agree that the laces are far too long. I replaced them within the fist few days with standard brown, dress-shoes style laces and it was a large impovement.

Super lightweight, comfy, shoe

I really like the light, relaxed slipper like feel to these shoes have. Wide toebox gives your toes a room to breathe.

The default footbeds don't offer that much support, but I replaced the footbeds with my custom orthotics (adding a 1/8 inch shin as well).

Laces were way too long, I replaced them with "LockLaces" that I had leftover (tried them on my running shoes... didn't like them. Work great on my Loulus though).

Shoes are pricey... but for me, they were so comfortable, I think they are worth it. For other people... maybe the green/recycled aspects of the manufacturing are worth it (they are nice features to have... but comfort was the main feature for me).

When I was in Iceland last month (see attached photo I took). My luggage didn't arrive with me... and I spent the first two days at Skaftafel National Park hiking in my Loulus (I was smart enough to pack my tolietries, and three days of clothing in my carry-on... but not my hiking shoes). I managed to survive couple of half-day hikes up gravel/volcanic rock trails ... but I would never recommend it to anyone.

Super lightweight, comfy, shoe
