Description

Because the path you choose is as unpredictable as the next trip.

The most-traveled, least-traveled, and never-traveled trails of the world all share one commonality; they're unpredictable. That's why the avid hiker, traveler, or local brew-grabber can appreciate the Patagonia Men's Javelina A/C Shoe's blend of features that resemble a hiking, athletic, and casual shoe all in one.
  • EVA midsole features Air Cushion Plus inserts to absorb impact
  • Mostly recycled PU footboard offers stability and prevents bruising underfoot
  • Oiled suede leather and synthetic mesh upper offers a functional blend of durability, ruggedness, and breathability for mixed use
  • Injection-molded nylon arch shank helps provide stability on uneven surfaces
  • Rugged Vibram sole is attached via a stitched style that provides long-lasting durability and is less reliant on toxic glues/solvents

Great combination of light-weight, durability and comfort. I think the Forge Grey looks pretty nice as well. This shoe gets a lot of work and so far has only gotten more comfortable. There is plenty of bulk and tread for wearing on a hike but they still look good wearing w/ a pair of jeans casually. Size 11 fit me as expected.

Put these on and noticed a few hours after wearing them it was like wearing a ski boot. I am a 27.0 so I bought my street shoes in the 9.5 for a little bit of wiggle room like all my other shoes. After a day of wearing them my toes became cramped side to side. Like another user said, they vent very well and we're very stylish. Just wish it came slightly wider.

I'm a big fan of these shoes as they are super comfortable, and look cool. The shoes vent pretty well (relative to say the Patagonia Boaris). My only complaint is that the back of the shoe - the heel cup - is wearing thin (2nd pair of Patagonia shoes that has done this). I wear these alot, which doesn't help. Overall, I like the shoe, but wish it was more durable in the back.

I got these because I wanted a street shoe that wouldn't make my feet hurt on those short spontaneous hikes. The most suprising thing when I took them out of the box was how comfortable they felt. They feel like a soft well broken in shoe the instant you put them on. On top of that they have held up rather well (though I don't suspect the softish sole will last more than 3 years). The cushioning and tread of the sole is great on rocky steep terrain. These are trail sneakers, so don't expect a substitute for light trekking boot- after 8-10 mountain miles you will notice you are wearing sneakers, not boots. Being soft they will not provide the support needed if carrying a large pack distances. Size wise, they seem to be cut rather wide, which make them comfy around town shoes, so if you have narrow feet these will not give you the support. If you are the type of mountain bum that keeps boots in the back of your car just in case then these are the perfect shoes for you. Worth the Patagucci price tag.
