Very good lite hiker

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

A friend is on his second pair of these in a low and really likes them, obviously. He wears them hard and I liked the durability and style so looked for them in a mid. Best price out there and without question the most comfortable lite hikers I have owned to date! Have worn Merrell, North Face, Columbia, Keen, Garmont and even Asolo.

Great workhorse boot.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I have used these boots up in the mountains and down back on the farm with no signs of wearing out. I've had them for a year now with no signs of durability issues and they still look prime. The water proofing is off and on tho... But hey we all have flaws and I love these boots with the handy cap.

ps-they are quite stylish and I get many complements on them

All Season Hiking Boot

After almost a year, I'm finally getting around to reviewing them. I have really liked these boots and recommend them to family and friends. The soles have excellent traction in all conditions I have tested: water, snow, gravel, slush, mud, dirt... The waterproofing has not failed me in any of these conditions (will update this review accordingly if anything changes in the future). They are on the warmer end of the spectrum for hiking boots, so I'm not sure I would enjoy them as much during the sweltering Texas summers I used to know. But in my opinion, they are perfect for an active 4-season lifestyle in an elevated place like Utah.

Also note: these boots somehow repel water and dirt insofar as they still look almost like new. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Very comfortable, not very waterproof

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

If I were rating these as straight hiking boots, I would give them 5 stars. They had no break in period, are light, super comfortable, have great ankle support, and apparently can take quite a beating.

They are not waterproof, at least not to my understanding of the term. Several times I have been in 1-2" of water and my feet got soaked through in seconds. This seems like a pretty serious for from a boot that claims to be waterproof.

That being said, I don't really need a 100% waterproof boot (they do alright at shedding light moisture and snow)so I'm reluctant to return them even if the product description is disingenuous (I picked them up for quite a discount). I'll just jump over puddles and streams for a while.

Aaron C:

Bummer to hear your pair hasn't lived up to expectations. I'm wondering if you received a defective pair? The reason is because I've had the exact opposite experience with my pair of the exact same boots... Several times I have attempted to find fault in their waterproofing and have not. I've waded through shallow creeks, puddles, snow and even stood in a running stream in Zion National Park for several minutes to test for leakage... All dry inside.

These are legitimately waterproof (at least in my experience).
