Description

Stay warm while looking good.

The Patagonia Women's Fiona Down Parka turns up the heat on winter by showing off your sculpted shape while still giving you cold-weather protection of down insulation. The slim fit flatters your figure for a fully feminine silhouette, regardless of what Old Man Winter has up his sleeve. Sweetly sloping quilting adds urban style while emphasizing your hard-earned physique.

Created from entirely recycled polyester and then finished off with a DWR treatment, the shell prevents flurries and light snow from soaking through while you enjoy the winter wonderland of snow, ice, and skyscrapers. Your hot body stays smokin' thanks to 600-fill Traceable duck down insulation. The feathers are ethically sourced, so you know the ducks were neither force-fed nor live-plucked. It's easy to walk with confidence when you feel as good as you look in this socially conscious, consciously stylish down parka.

  • 100%$ recycled polyester shell

Fit is Bad

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Height: 5' 5"
    Weight: 135 lbs
    Size Purchased: medium

Loved the coat out of the package - but the fit was terrible. The medium ran too small (I'm 5'5" 135 lbs) and a large would have been way too big.

Runs small, very warm!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Height: 5' 1"
    Weight: 115 lbs
    Size Purchased: Small

I was torn between the small and medium because I read they run small. I went with the small any way because I'm short and didn't wan't to risk swimming in the Medium. It's a little tight in the arms and chest but so warm that it's not a big deal. No need for multiple layers or sweaters under this anyway. Overall, I think it's an awesome jacket!

Too small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Height: 5' 11"
    Weight: 140 lbs
    Size Purchased: small

Ordered a small because my down sweater hoody from patagonia fits perfectly and is a size small. This jacket is much tighter and not as full/thick as I had hoped. I was barely able to zip it, unlike my other patagonia jackets. The length is perfect, I'm 5'11 and the sleeves were also the perfect length.

Poor Quality

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 4"
    Weight: 128 lbs
    Size Purchased: medium

Purchased this coat and at first loved it until within a week or two, the down started poking through the coat.....everywhere. White little feathers on my black coat. If you pull them out, it leaves a little hole. I thought this coat would be of good quality because of the brand name, I was very wrong. Don't waste your money.

What color is verdigris? sounds green, but looks grey in photograph.

Perfect City Coat

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I work in an ad agency, so I wanted a coat that was dressy enough to wear to work, warm enough to withstand a brutal winter day, and light enough so I don't feel like a marshmallow. I LOVE my Fiona.

Even on subzero temp days, the Fiona Parka keeps me warm (enough) on my 10 minute walk to the office and blocks the wind without being bulky like most down parkas. The slim cut is flattering and maintains a feminine shape without sacrificing warmth. I am 5'8 120 lbs and own this in an XSmall. It fits great and hits about mid-thigh. It's snug, but not too tight in the shoulders. If you're looking to wear thicker layers underneath, you will want to size up. This is also not a jacket to wear outside for extended amounts of time in frigid temperatures - it is a lighter option for running around town or taking the dog for a walk. That being said, it is extremely warm for its weight and fill. If you're looking for an everyday coat to wear around town, try the Fiona.

Nice coat, weird fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got this as an xmas gift today! Navy color is pretty and I would call it a true navy. Length is good, just above my knees. I'm 5'8" and 135lbs and have broad shoulders. I seem to have the opposite problem as other reviewers. I got a medium. Arms are too short (fine with gloves) and the mid section is a little loose. Shoulders do fit fine and even are a little boxy for me (with broad shoulders). I had a patagonia vest and slim shirt on under it. I could have potentially used a small however I think the arms would have been even shorter, but probably more form fitting thru my midsection. I'll keep the medium but just an odd fit. It is lightweight, not bulky at all, very warm and blocked the wind great. This will be awesome for travel as it can wad up to a small ball.

I ordered the small and couldn't get it zipped up past my chest. I'm a smaller build (5'4" and 128 lbs) but the small didn't fit.
The medium was a little large around the waste but at least could zip up over my chest. This coat doesn't seem to be made for a woman.

What is the center back length of a medium?

Good for what I need it for....

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Let me start out with I'm 5'5", 117 lbs small frame and I got a small. Loved the look of the jacket, very very light as if you had no jacket on at all, warm and the length was great. When I moved my arms in this jacket it felt a little restricted...almost if you move the wrong way you'll pop out the seams in the shoulders/back. So I ordered a medium, that was gynormous! Because I do love the jacket I'm keeping the small but you cannot wear more than a thin under layer. If you want to wear a sweater it has to be very very thin. I feel that the jacket is warm enough so that I can do that and not feel the impact of losing the normal amount of layers I'd always wear in the cold. I noticed that the jacket does lose down, from the inside (gets on your clothes a bit) and the outside. I'm hoping this is normal and won't impact the warmth for some time.

Great Customer Service!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Not sure about the coat just yet. I'm 5'7" and a size 8. I ordered a large after reading lots of reviews that stated this coat runs small and thinking it would give me a little extra room for sweaters but it is too big. The coat seems to be cut a little funny as well. It's kind of large in the chest/shoulder/upper arm areas but snug around the hips/butt area. It is also longer than it appears in the pictures. I contacted backcountry.com and I'm exchanging for a Medium. Hopefully that will fit better and then I can test the warmth of this coat. I will say, the navy color is very pretty in person and the coat is very light weight.
Customer service at backcountry.com was excellent!!

I bought this to take to Iceland next month. Temps will be 20-30 during the day. I like it but concerned about warmth. Will it be warm enough if I wear a base layer with it. Do I also need a sweater weight down vest underneath as well? I will be doing some light hiking and walking around in and out of a car mostly. What about wind stoppage? Can I expect any?

Responded on

I think the Fiona would be a great jacket for your trip. Especially travelling that far, it will be nice to have a jacket that isn't bulky and will pack down fairly small. It is not completely windproof, but does fairly well blocking wind, and if you're in and out of a car and moving around it will keep you warm in some pretty chilly temps.

Arms crazy long

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I'm 5'3 and 110 pounds, and I ordered an XS. This coat fit very snuggly, I certainly could not have gone any smaller. I'd say the body is about a size 2, no more. It hit me a couple of inches above the knee, longer than in the photo, and the arms were a solid 3 inches too long. This coat is designed for those who are tall.

I can never decide until I see them on model. So here ya go!

Can anyone comment on warmth? Looking for something stylish to wear on my 30 min walk to work that will keep me warm but still look good when worn to client meetings later in the day. Average winter morning temps are 10-20 degrees, I walk at a decent pace and can stay pretty warm even in lighter jackets but I want something that is longer and warmer even when I'm not moving. Thanks!

I think this would be a great jacket for your walk to work. It's sharp enough for a meeting for sure, and packs some good warmth for a lighterweight down jacket. The Downtown Loft Parka would be a warmer one to consider as well, but if you stay warm already in lighter jacket I think you'll be psyched w the Fiona.

I bought it, works great. Love how light it is, and it looks smart enough for Wisconsin business casual. I'm 5'6", 118 lbs with an athletic build, and a small fits perfectly. Fitted, but I have no movement issues and I can wear heavy sweaters underneath with no problem.
