Perfect down jacket!

I bought this jacket in the Marashcino color, but loved it so much I bought another one in black! It is lightweight and keeps me very warm and comfortable during the cold winter weather in Northern California. I would never buy down jackets before because they were too hot and made me look like the Michelin man...I finally found the perfect down jacket!
love it

This coat is light, pretty durable, simple, comfy, has a great flattering fit, stuffs small and is a necessary piece. True to size. Wear it everywhere. Love it.
Excellent Insulator!

Love this jacket, warm and lofty insulator for winter! I wear this night riding when the temperature drops and lift rides are frigid! It's an awesome piece to have moving into spring with chilly nights and mornings. I would prefer a hooded one, but non hooded layers better.
Highly recommend

I bought the Bright Green jacket and I absolutely love it! I have worn it almost everyday since I bought it. It's super lightweight and comfortable. I was very pleased to discover that it fits under my Lululemon rain coat for days that I need to look more professional but still need to stay warm/dry in the PNW winter. It also fits under my ski coat if I need an extra layer (perfect for skiing cold days at Schweitzer).
I am 5'6" and 125lbs and the small fits great.
Solid jacket, but not for me.

The down sweater jacket is a super solid choice, especially for a lightweight 800-fill coat.
However, the fit is just funny on me. I am 5'2, 112 pounds, and I tried on a S. It fit right in the torso length, but the sleeves were absurdly long. Not just down to my knuckles- my hands were entirely within the sleeves of the jacket, no fingers showing. Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on an XS, but I don't think it would have solved the sleeves issue, only a little better fit in the torso.
Overall, I do agree that this jacket is bomber, and have a ton of friends who rock it. Just wasn't the right one for me!
OBSESSED!

I got my jacket in the Sky Blue and absolutely LOVE it. They do run big so I suggest sizing down. So cute, so warm and no michelin man look!

great quality and all, the only downside (big one) is that the color i bought was not as described (white).
the color is so light that you can see through , and this makes it a nad looking jacket, because instead of being withe, it was sort of grey and withe all over the jacet as you could see the down inside that was not all of the same color

What caught my eye about this jacket besides the Patagonia name is the ultra light and non-puffiness that the jacket has cosmetically. My mom does not like puffy things so I found this to be right down her alley. She lives in NY so when it rains or snows or sleets she will be dry with the DWR coating. I was looking for only 800-fill down jackets for that cold NY weather. I think she will love this jacket.

I've had this jacket for about a month and love it. It has so many uses. I really like the look and feel of this jacket. It is lightweight and warm for temps above 25 degrees.

I wore my new jacket on a field trip to take students to a leadership conference. One of the kids remarked on the way back that down was coming out of my arm. Sure enough there was a tear on the arm!
No wonder it's so light. The fabric is thin and not rip stop! I had already tossed the receipt and package so had to get the cleaners to patch it up.

when in the back country I only use as a layer under a shell coat if anything at all can snag it. back country has an impeccable return policy - no problem returning if purchased from b/c

I bought this jacket for my wife and she loves it. It works as a layering piece but also as an outer layer thanks to the DWR coating. It's very warm and packs down super small. Like all Patagonia products it's quality.

This is my everyday go to jacket. It provides a great layer in the winter months. Order a size down...I'm usually a medium but my hubby got me the small and it's a perfect fit. Washes well and packs easy!

Perfect Little down jacket

This is a very versatile and handy, perfect for the travel or just running around the town (in this case San Fran). Only thing i can think of, the light colored one (Pearl) I got has some of the dark feather showing through, the darker colored ones do not have this issue.
Love this jacket

This jacket is super light weight and stuffs down to a compact size. It keeps me warm at night in camp and then I use it in its stuff sack as my camp pillow. My measurements said that I should get a large, but a medium would have fit better. You might want to try it on in a store before purchasing via the web.

Does this jacket have long arms? Think I want a small but need the arm length...

Estelle,
The Down Sweater is usually pretty generous in arm length, so I would guess you'll be ok.

Also note that these jackets are designed to be worn with layers so they are loose around the torso. I have a medium which is my normal size (I'm 5'7" and about 140lbs) and this jacket is baggy if I just wear it with a T-shirt or a long underwear top.
Great jacket, awful color styling

Great jacket, super light and super warm. I'm a big fan of down and this jacket feels so toasty and light.
My one caution is that you may want to check some other sites and see if you can get a glimpse of the lining color. I bought the maraschino red which is meh (it's a really washed out looking red) but I wouldn't return it based solely on that--I understand that's the risk of online shopping. What I wasn't prepared for was the washed out kelly green lining--the colors look like an 80s christmas photo. And what the photos don't show is that unless you zip this jacket all the way, up you are definitely seeing the lining trim on the zipper and around the collar. Great jacket--awful color combo Patagonia!
