    Less is more.

A steaming cup of hot cocoa only lasts for so long, so when you need lasting warmth, pull on the Patagonia Men's Down Shirt. The minimalist design provides lightweight warmth on summer backpacking trips and winter ski sessions. Constructed of lightweight windproof fabric, this jacket is treated with a DWR finish to repel moisture when stormy weather sets in. Traceable Down comes from non-live-plucked and non-force-fed geese, so you can wear it without guilt. A narrow quilting construction keeps the down in place for reliable warmth. The jacket stuffs into either outside pocket, making it easy to pack along on your next outdoor adventure.

    Great lightweight down shirt

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

This is an awesome lightweight option for fall/spring hiking, biking, and just everyday use. It isn't crazy warm, which is to be expected, because it is called a shirt, not a jacket, but I've found it makes a great outer layer on warmer days, over a sweatshirt or flannel. Patagonia usually runs a little bit big, as I'm usually a Large for my long arms to fit, but the medium is perfect in this! Overall I love it, construction is top notch, and I'm going to be wearing this waaaay too much this winter!

    Perfect Insulation

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Bought this as a gift for my son-in-law. Here is what he has to say about it.... I must wear this jacket or take it with me everyday. When it is cold it keeps me warm and when it is that in between cold and hot the jacket does a great job at just keeping me comfortable. I have actually worn the jacket in 75 degree weather and felt great. Super comfortable and lightweight.

    Patagonia Down Shirt

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I got this to serve as a warmer weather option, and it has done this for the short time I've had it. The initial description had it with zippered pockets, but it does not. Too bad, no place to definitively secure your keys or wallet. I do however like the inside drop pockets. I feel that although generally the sizing seems right, the hips are a bit snug.

    A real nice stash jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

I grabbed this jacket to keep in my backpack for the unpredictable temps that invariably accompany Des Moines in later-winter/early-spring (literally 70 and sunny on Saturday and 22 and snow on Monday)

The Patagonia Down Shirt is super light, well made, and plenty warm for temps down to the mid-30's.

My only beef (which is only due to the amazing quantity and quality of bacon and beer in Des Moines) is that it is built to fit really athletic climbers. It is broad in the shoulders and a little snug near the waist so it is a little snug around my artfully crafted beer belly.

    Awesome lightweight jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Lightweight and highly pack-able. Great for use in 40+ degree weather or as an extra insulation layer when it's colder. Runs true to size; I ordered a medium and am 5'10 / 180

    Great jacket

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium

This is a fabulous jacket especially with Backcournty's price and service. However, it has to be returned as the medium was too small for my husband. He is 5'9" and about 170 with fairly broad shoulders. The jacket fit great through the waist but was too tight through the shoulders and the large will be too big. Bummer.

Great quality, thicker than a "shirt"

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Funny that this puffy is called a "shirt." But so far, it's been good for cool, not cold, weather. Great quality, as always, with MHW. Looks great, too.

    Perfect for Fall

This jacket keeps you warm during the fall festivities even with just a t shirt under. I got a medium which is what I usually wear for a shirt size and it fits perfectly. The only thing that I've noticed is that you can feel the down feathers poking you sometimes and you'll find feathers when you stand up ever so often, but that comes with the territory when buying a down jacket. Would recommend to friends. The orange is very bright too, prepare to get your balls busted.

      Packable warmth

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: small

I take this jacket everywhere with me, it is warm enough to deal with temps around 40F with moderate physical exertion. I use this as my primary "inside jacket", keeping me toasty while at rest. The packability of this jacket is also worth noting, as it can easily be added to a camelback for a cold ride or ski. Great purchase.

Note: I originally purchased a medium, knowing that I would be right in-between the two sizes, but I am solidly a size small.

      Great Light Jacket

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large

Fantastic for cool nights. Lightweight and breathable, exactly as expected! I am usually a Medium, but in Patagonia a Small is best as they tend to run a little large. A great base layer with a shell as well.

      Great Lightweight Down Jacket/Shirt

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

This is a very versatile jacket that withheld up and down temps of Telluride. Packs away nicely when you start getting warm and holds up in the cool Colorado mountain summer nights and mornings. I'm 6'1" and skinny, so the small fit my frame decently in the torso. The sleeves could have been a tiny bit longer but they still worked out. It's a little tight around the waist with no elastic, but provided a a good seal. Patagonia regular for items tend to be wide in the torso, which was the case with the medium I exchanged out. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

      Great Piece

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket as a gift but also have one of my own. In my opinion this is the perfect piece as an outer layer above 45-50 degrees. When the temperatures drop lower this is the perfect amount of insulation under a shell. Since the jacket can pack down to basically nothing, I bring it with me on most chill to cold weather activities.

Being a shorter guy (around 5'7") I usually agree quite well with Patagonia's sizing. However, on some of these down insulation pieces of theirs I find them to be cut a little too big for me through the torso. As usual the sleeve length and center back length I am totally happy with. I wear a size Medium in this jacket.

      Really solid jacket.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

The style, warmth and length of this product are fine, it had some leakage issues at first-nothing major, and it hasn't since the first couple of days I used it. This is a solid jacket, it's not super warm, but it blocks the wind well and will serve you pretty well down to around 48 degrees or so. Then you'll need to layer up. I could see it being a solid layer especially for wind protection. It has two stow pockets that are really nice, with two side pockets, unzipped that have some down fill. The style is great, I get a lot of compliments. Overall it's a good piece to have in your rotation with the keys, being style, wind blocking, comfort, plus decent warmth. I'm happy with this purchase, and it has Patagonia quality you'd expect.
