The Patagonia Down Jacket for women fits the bill for the backcountry butterfly when the cold stings like a bee. Been wearing a hand-me-down, made-for-a-guy down jacket? Not this season, girl. Patagonia's version of this indispensable insulating item features improved shaping and quilting lines for a closer fit and a more feminine look, so you won't look like an androgynous blob when you need the warmth of down. And in terms of functionality, this jacket is what other down jackets want to grow up to be. The shell and lining fabrics are lightweight and water-repellent, and keep the down where it belongs. The supple lining feels comfortable against the skin, while the carefully chosen white down retains loft through countless compressions. Wrist closures are designed to warm the back of your hand without added bulk on your palm, and the drawcorded hem allows you to crank up the thermostat if you're turning into a popsicle.
Bottom Line: Are you down with this jacket? We are!
I got this jacket after seeing it on my friend. Although, I bought it this spring so I haven't worn it in the winter. It has a great fit and seems very cozy, I like that the sleeves are a bit long, so they overlap a bit on your hands.
I bought this jacket to keep out Chicago wind and to ride on cold days. It has not let me down on either. I love how warm it is, and that it can be stuffed into its little sack. And the cut is great so you don't look like every other Michelin man/woman cruising in their massive puffers. It is probably the best jacket I have purchased.
Love the functionality of this product. My problem is with the colors. I have the blue down jacket, and while it looked really pretty at first, it definitely doesn't hold up to the rigors of backcountry life. As a friend of mine said the other day, it looks like I've been working on my car! Kinda funny because this jacket has definitely lived hard, it just really shows! Super hard to get clean and constantly resealing.

I love the fit of this jacket. It has a flattering but comfortable waist, and the extensions over the hands make a real difference. Also, the water-resistant finish is softer and not as noisy as some others. Of course, it's super warm and cozy as well.
I like this jacket. I tried Mountain Hardwear first, but the women's was too short (even though I got a few sizes bigger than usual!). This one fit wonderfully. The long design of the sleeves are a plus, especially because they allow you to keep your palms free. The cut is perfect for a woman too, nice silhouette shape that doesn't sacrifice any warmth. My only complaint is that there are a lot of feathers coming out.
I was looking for a down jacket to keep this CA girl warm during a recent business trip to Columbus, OH. Wouldn't you know the week I was there they had their first snow of 2006. Luckily, I was prepared with my new down jacket. I didn't like the scratchy pocket liners of other brands. Patagonia has soft fleece lining the inside of the pockets and the inside of the collar. I had a Patagonia jacket back in Elementary School but I forgot how comfy they were. I look forward to using it again at the end of the month when I head out for another cold weather business trip in Louisville, KY.
This jacket is great. Very nice fuzzy collar, great cut that suits a woman's figure and sizes as small as XS. By the way, the XS is perfect for my 5'6" wife. She loves it!
