They provide warmth without ridiculous bulk, and they're breathable so your feet don't overheat. A Capilene felted footbed that adds cushion and insulation and won't wear out. Patagonia's innovative rib-cuff design is non-restrictive and prevents the Capilene Hiking Crew socks from sloughing into boots. Flex zones in the toe box and ankle allow for a natural, non-bunching flex.

I had just received these socks before we went backpacking in the Glacier Peak wilderness and found them to be warm, comfortable and, best of all, a non-event item. Highly recommended.
