Toasty buns are happy buns.

Keep those buns toasty in the bitter cold with the über-warm Patagonia Women’s Capilene 4 Expedition Weight Bottoms. Made with Polartec Power Dry High Efficiency fabric in an open-grid knit, Patagonia's warmest capilene baselayer offers super breathability and moisture-wicking performance. Slide this slim-fitting bottom on under your ski or snowboard pants for heavy-duty layering with next-to-skin comfort. The gusseted crotch will give you unimpeded movement as you carve turns, and the fabric's smooth jersey face is comfortable enough so you won't need to change before grabbing a brew the lodge after a full day on the mountain.

See through

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I love my Cap4 top and was looking for a warmer base layer to use on resort days. First the "open grid knit" essentially means see through. It is a waffle style with a very thin fabric between the waffles, when stretched tight you can see right through to your underwear. I ordered the extra small (5'2" 115lbs). It was a struggle to get the waist over my thighs and butt, but once it made it over, it fit my waist perfectly. Just wish it had a little bit more stretch, but wouldn't pick a different size.

Looking for a description and/or picture of the waistband. Surprised that neither are provided here! Very important factor in choosing a baselayer.

Hey Kara,

These are listed as a flat brushed elastic waistband.

I hope that helps

These are amazing. They are so thin and unbelievably warm. I wear them around the house in the winter they are so comfortable and soft I can't wait to get home and put them on.
