Love!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These leggings are super thin but crazy warm! I love them. I'm 5'6" and 140 pounds and got my usual Patagonia size M. They fit so well - no baggy ankles like other long underwear I have. I've worn them for everything from cold winter runs to hiking a glacier in Iceland and they've kept me nice and toasty through it all. They are meant to be a base layer though, so they are definitely a little see through and can't be worn on their own like leggings. They fit perfectly under ski pants, skinny jeans, or anything else you want to layer them under.

Toasty and Comfortable!

I love these bottoms! I recently moved to where it gets considerably cold, I'm talking negative double digit temps in the winter so I needed some serious long underwear that I could wear on regular days out and also for more strenuous activities. These fit great under my jeans, even my fav pair of skinny jeans. They are like waffle knit long underwear that you see everywhere but these are legit! I bought the medium in black and the first time I wore them I was moving and fit them under my running leggings without a problem. They are slightly see through like many people have mentioned in their reviews but it's not very obvious. I don't really plan on prancing around in public with just these on for pants so I'm not too concerned. They sit just below my natural waist and the seams are in normal places (unlike some that have seams going all over your behind that makes it feel somewhat restricting) so they are super comfortable. Bottomline: These are WARM and COMFY and I've already ordered a few more :)

Great Service

Years ago I bought a patagonia cap 3 bottom at size M and it was great and so decided to order the same size in Cap 4. Initially the fit was good so I ordered another one. But later on the fit became loose around the waist. I decided to return the second unused item and keep the first one just to give a chance. The backcountry services is very awesome, chatted with Marla today and helped me with return and exchange services. She even took her time to provide recommendation and suggestion. She is very helpful and patient. I still love patagonia for the fact of their environmental cause and the quality of their products. Just a lesson learn for me is not to assume that the other models would fit the same.

Supercomfy & a perfect fit. They go great under my ski pants, but are also excellent for lounging around the house before & after a ski day. Definitely worth the sale price!

Disappointed

The fit was great but they are see through. I like to take my ski pants off after the ski day and have a drink in the bar or drive home. Not if they are see through. This should be said in the description. I am returning them and ordering another pair Capilene 3 midweight pant. Very happy with the new pants.

I love these!

Been looking for a warmer baselayer for backpacking to replace my 10 year old patagonia capilene 2s. I wanted lightweight, warm, and cute. These are perfect. When I first tried them on, I thought no way would these keep me warm enough. They were very thin and see thru the waffling. I went backpacking this weekend and I wore them under my layers and I was not cold at all! I'm always the one complaining about freezing and I was so happy that I didn't have to shiver. I got the xs and they fit me perfect. 5'2" 117 lbs. The wide waist band is flattering. I wore the bottoms and the top to bed in my sleeping bag and was so comfortable. The material is breathable. Very happy with my purchase, especially since I got them on sale.

I'm a Patagonia fan, had the top and finally got these on sale, love them to death. I'm may have to get another pair. Awsome when you need warmth and light weight. I have smart wool, I have Xbex, I have silk, but these are the ones I reach for the most when I need a light base layer that works in icy cold temps. Love is blind....?

    See through

I love my Cap4 top and was looking for a warmer base layer to use on resort days. First the "open grid knit" essentially means see through. It is a waffle style with a very thin fabric between the waffles, when stretched tight you can see right through to your underwear. I ordered the extra small (5'2" 115lbs). It was a struggle to get the waist over my thighs and butt, but once it made it over, it fit my waist perfectly. Just wish it had a little bit more stretch, but wouldn't pick a different size.

These are amazing. They are so thin and unbelievably warm. I wear them around the house in the winter they are so comfortable and soft I can't wait to get home and put them on.

it has been a year since i ordered these and I still love the heck out of them to be honest for how much I have worn them I am surprised they have held up so well they almost look brand new. they are very cute and comfortable. they are see thru and meant to be worn as a layer under something else. I have used them snowboarding, hiking, camping and around the house. I will be getting a second pair.

What size should I get? Im 5'2" 117lbs... normally wear a 25 or 26 in jeans. Can't decide between a xs or s. Should these be nice and tight to be warm? Looking for baselayers to wear at night while camping. Im always cold.

Looking for a description and/or picture of the waistband. Surprised that neither are provided here! Very important factor in choosing a baselayer.
