    Cozy Afternoons.

Picture this—music quietly plays as your little one scoots across the floor in the Patagonia Infant Girls' Capilene Midweight Set, meanwhile outside, snow falls, covering the pines in a fine, white dusting. Made with an eco-friendly, blended fabric and a soft, sueded back, this set is quick to dry when she spills her sippy cup. A Polygiene permanent odor control ensures it won't pick up that musky dog smell when she cuddles up for an afternoon nap with her furry best friend. Additionally, the top is designed with overlapping shoulders for easy on and off, and fold-over mitts on the sleeves help keep her hands warm during nap time. The bottoms feature a soft elasticized waistband and a seat gusset for extra diaper room. Knee patches increase durability and comfort as she learns to crawl.

When the baby is happy- you're happy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

We quickly learned that while winter hiking we needed to keep our daughter warm. That means we dress her just like we dress ourselves. The capilene base is perfect to start with. It keeps her warm and wicks any moisture. The new designs on these are super cute. If you plan to have your toddler outside this winter Id DEFINITELY recommend this. I've noticed all of Patagonia's clothing to run slightly large. This is the same, but you can easily roll up sleeves and pants. I like to buy winter clothes slightly large so she has time to grow into them. Pair it with a fleece vest and a nano puff bunting and you'll be set.

    As adorable as I'd hoped

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

A very active pair of friends recently had a little arrival and I wanted something outdoorsy to give to the kid. She looks amazingly cute in this little outfit! It works great as a baselayer for when they need to bundle her up underneath more insulation and on it's own around the house on a winter day. The snap bottom on the shirt facilitates diaper changing nicely.

    Go-To Base Layer for Baby

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've tried a lot of base layers for babies, but keep coming back to this one every time. Material keeps them warm, but is breathable and very durable for active babies. Maybe a bit on the big side, but most of the babies have been on the slim rather than chubby side. We've used it for hiking and skiing, layering it with a Patagonia down bunting during the winter.

    Good Baselayer For Little Ones

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 18m

What makes a good baselayer for an infant/toddler? Fit, comfort and warmth. The Patagonia Capilene Midweight Set does all three pretty well as it helped keep my girl warm during a colder X-Mas day in Salt Lake and the material is very comfy as her skin is a bit problematic with other materials, but not this one. The fit was a bit on the larger side but still fit pretty well with my girl being a bit of a tall string bean for her age. Definitely recommended.

    Great baby base layer

First of all, this outfit is adorable! It has reinforced knees, which are great since my daughter is crawling everywhere. We use this outfit when we take her hiking in the baby carrier pack. We typically use it as a base layer, under a Patagonia bunting. It helps her stay dry if sweaty, and stay warm overall. The great thing is that she can easily wear it out and about after. It fits true to size.
