Description

Now, that's intelligent design.

Patagonia got smart when it designed the Men's Capilene 3 Midweight Boot Top Bottom. It cropped the inseam by six inches to ensure that your bottoms, ski socks, and boots all play nicely together—with no bunching or wrinkling—during a long day on the slopes. It also made these bottoms out of soft, stretchy, wicking Polartec Power Dry, so you stay warm, dry, and comfortable all day.
  • Smooth jersey outer face lets layers slide on easily
  • Durable elastic waistband is brushed for lext-to-skin softness
  • Functional fly makes backwoods pit stops fast and east
  • Gusseted crotch enhances your mobility

I have been using the same pair of Patagonia Cap 3 long underwear for several years, and I could not be happier. This material is perfect for high output activities in cold weather. It keeps you warm, it wicks moisture, it drys quickly, it breathes, it feels wonderful on the skin, it slides easily under other layers, it's durable, and Patagonia did a great job of tailoring it so that it is comfortable to wear.

I just purchased a pair of the boot top Cap 3 pants, and I am very pleased (as expected). The boot top cut has made these my favorite winter base layer (even more so than my original full length pair). They fit incredibly well above mountaineering boots and ski boots (I'm certain that the same goes for snowboarding boots).

When the temperature drops, I go for the Cap 3 pants every day of the week. These pants are more than enough to keep me warm and happy when paired with a shell. I do everything in these; skiing, mountaineering, walking around town, chopping wood, sleeping... everything. Great material, great fit, great buy.

Size medium on a 30" inseam

These fit very well with mountaineering boots and ski boots. loose enough to pull up if needed, tight enough that they won't fall down into your boot. Perfect!

Nice material, but the cut of them was low in the butt and would drop when I bent over. I am 6'2" 180, so not a hefty person. I like the idea of 3/4 length. I ended up with some 3/4 length smart wool and they fit great.

I experienced the same low rise problem, they are going back.
