Up for any kind of winter fun.

Winter means snowball fights, cold walks to the school bus, and family ski trips, among other things; get set for these and many other activities with the Patagonia Girls’ Capilene 3 Crew. This versatile midweight double-knit top wicks and breathes when she’s working up a sweat, insulates when she’s cold, and fights odors thanks to a natural Gladiodor finish. And when she’s fully worn it out, the top can be recycled through Patagonia's Common Threads program.

Here's what others have to say...

bigger than i thought

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs large

I bought this for my 10 year old and she is of average height and above average weight. i bought the xl thinking that she might need some extra room for her cute-but-protruding belly. usually she wears a 12 or 14 size shirt depending on the brand and how it's cut. however, the xl would fit me (5'8", 145 lbs)! it's a very roomy base layer with very long sleeves. i'm wondering if the large will even be the right fit for my kiddo?
i still gave it 5 stars because it is a well-made cozy Patagonia product and i love their ethics and their products.

The best for my babes!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I won't put my kids in any other baselayer....the end. To say we've "put it through the wringer" is an understatement. These kids have LIVED in their capilene since the day we got them....2 years ago (I picked them up a bit large, so they have finally grown into them nicely this year) These are a year-round wardrobe staple for us.

When we hit the slope each week in the winter, we are there open to close. My kids go go go and barely take the time to eat a snack. Blizzards, wind, spring sleet--they don't stop, and they never once complain about being cold.

They sleep in these year round when we are camping (we hit 20 degree temps last January in our tent and they slept like babies), and I'll find them cozied up in them with their cocoa on a Sunday afternoon. They have been washed and worn, washed and worn, and there isn't a single snag or stray thread....they look mint. Patagonia wins again.

Powder for Breakfast!

After a full day of rolling down the mountain like a snowball, she stays dry and toasty in her Capilene!

Awesome picture Sheena !!!

Cozy and warm

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Very well built. My daughter wears it for school, sleep with and hit the mountain with it.

The XXL size is perfect for petite!

  • Gender:Female

I'm 5'2" (petite) and 140 lbs, athltic build. I bought this for myself.

After reading other's reviews, I bought the girl's XXL size instead of women's size. It fits perfectly, and it's cheaper than what one will pay for a women's size.

Haven't yet put it to use, but the quality looks good.
