Patagonia Capilene 3 Bottom - Men's - 2007 BCS

i have the top and bottoms of the cap 3's and i love em. i always wear them to bed. they're so rad and stylish and comfy to wear and really breathable and warm. great layer and beats the pants off every other layer i've had that's not patagonia.

I read rave reviews about these and they were relatively inexpensive. I don't love the fit (on the short side - I'm 6'3", size L) or feel (a bit scratchy), but most of all, they did not adequately wick moisture (in fact, they seemed to generate additional moisture). If you're looking for an absolutely fantastic product, I would go with the SmartWool midweights - more expensive but they outperform these in every way.

A tiny bit on the pricey side but all is good. They are warm and will keep you warm whether standing still or moving. Would buy again.

Wore this piece and BC overhang pants on a three-day 24 mile hike. Gladiodor works great, for me at least. Never took these off the entire trip. Hiked all-day and slept in them and was never bothered by any nasty smelling funk. They stay comfortable for long and active use. I'm 5'5" 160lbs and a Medium fits me great.

ultra high quality base layer. the inside of these is a small holed mesh like material which makes them very comfortable and improves wicking ability. Im 6'2" 210 pounds and these fit a little long but are good in all other areas.

Great Midweight bottoms for cold weather pursuits that's quick drying and unrestrictive in design to keep you dry and charging all day.

My husband was looking for a warmer layer and I got him this one for Christmas.

I like this bottom very much. It, like all the capilene stuff, breaths incredibly well. The whole line, i've found, excels in keeping you reasonably warm across a wide swing of aerobic levels. It's all so perfect for the ups and downs of long hikes.

I am also a big fan of the REI silk tops and bottoms. If you are tall, then I highly recommend the REI silk tall bottoms. They aren't quite as warm as these capilene 3 bottoms, but *almost* match the warmth, and somewhat exceed the breathability of the capielene 3 bottoms -- and are much lighter in weight. The silk has the one downside of requiring very delicate care.

Cap 3 is perfect for keeping me warm, but not overheated. These are used for my ski tours, resort days, and cold weather climbing and hiking adventures. I'm 6'2 185 and wear a medium, which is frankly too short on the legs, but it doesn't matter with ski socks...

Great for winter activities. Breaths well and wicks the moisture away from your body. Not very thick but very high heat to weight ratio. Dries very quickly.

I like these alot they are warm and thick, not as delightlfully soft as the silkweight capilene but I wear these on the outside of the silkwieght for warmth when i go into the backcountry. really passes water out fast even when your hiking for days so you dont ever get wet or moist around your cotton balls.

I recently bought these one week before going on an 8 day ski trip in Sun Valley with some buddies of mine, and I wore only these long johns with a pair of burton ski pants and they kept me so hot i had to unzip all the vents in the pants. It was about -15 with wind chill on the top of the mountain and i was eating powder left and right and these never failed. I highly recommend them and will be using them everytime i ski. For the price, there is no other way to go.

I bought these with a Capilene 3 shirt, wore it sitting still in 20 degree weather for 4 hours and did not get cold. Also, the price is great. I couldn't find my size anywhere locally and purchased Under Armor that was $50 for the pants only. As soon as I found my size I returned the Under Armor for these which were cheaper and haven't looked back. I'm 6'1" 200lbs and the medium are a perfect fit. These also saved me some money on ski pants as I don't need ones that are insulated.

Good fit. Very warm and quick drying.

sweet layer, dries quick even under a shell, and still good support when I go "ultralight with the coconuts"

Rocked a pair of these for 2 years and didn't have many complaints. You want them to be tight so go small on them so they wick well. They get the job done.

The Patagonia Cap3 Bottom is all I need under my North Face Freedom pants. These midweight bottoms keep me incredibly warm and dry on the coldest of days. I have only ever worn these and these are all I will ever need. The size is true, and are such the perfect bottom baselayer. I wear my Smartwool socks and pull these bad boys down to right about mid calf and I am locked and loaded for a long day. The wicking capability is truly remarkable....as dry when I am taking them off...as when I was putting them on in the morning.

I originally bought the Capilene 2 Bottom but quickly discovered that it was too thin. The Capilene 3 Bottom is perfect for skiing, and I have never felt too warm or cold -- always just right. I also bought a pair for my 10 year old son, and he commented how comfy they are. Perfect. I just might wear these everyday.

These are quality gear but I like a more form fitting bottom layer. I'm always cold so I may try a combination.

I love my Patagonia Capilene 3 bottoms. I'm usually a merino wool type of guy, but these bottoms have proved themselves. I wear them whenever I go out on a cold adventure. I really like to wear them with shorts when I go climbing in the late fall/winter/early spring. They are bomb proof. I've owned them for 4 years now and not one hole and never have I been cold my the nether region. I would move to merino, but these bottoms won't let me. I'm affriad they'd try to strangle me in my sleep if I ever betrayed them. They're tough! I wouldn't mess with em.

sweet. they fit nicely under your ski pants or jeans and they keep you toasty warm in just about any weather. coming from the frigid midwest, i know cold, and these babies take care of your bottom half.

good middle of the road baselayer. would liked it better if it had more silk outer coating for outer layers to slide over and better movement like the lower numbers,but still a heavyer weight
