    Unrestricted warmth.

The Patagonia Kids' Capilene 3 Bottoms insulate your little guy with the warming power of Capilene so he can focus on carving turns. A gusseted crotch and elastic waistband mean a customized fit that does not restrict movement, whether he's playing on the mountain or the playground.

    Can't go wrong

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

This is the kid version of the base layer I wear. There's no way to go wrong with Patagonia, it's durable and warm. What more could you ask for...buy them!

    Solid recommendation!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

My nephew is springing up like a weed these days, so when he needed some new long underwear I asked my parent friends what I should get him and Capilene was immediately recommended. So far so good, it fits him well and is nice and warm.

    The best for my babes!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I won't put my kids in any other baselayer....the end. To say we've "put it through the wringer" is an understatement. These kids have LIVED in their capilene since the day we got them....2 years ago (I picked them up a bit large, so they have finally grown into them nicely this year) These are a year-round wardrobe staple for us.

When we hit the slope each week in the winter, we are there open to close. My kids go go go and barely take the time to eat a snack. Blizzards, wind, spring sleet--they don't stop, and they never once complain about being cold.

They sleep in these year round when we are camping (we hit 20 degree temps last January in our tent and they slept like babies), and I'll find them cozied up in them with their cocoa on a Sunday afternoon. They have been washed and worn, washed and worn, and there isn't a single snag or stray thread....they look mint. Patagonia wins again.

    Perfect layer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Patagonia makes great layering pieces and I knew these would be a great gift to my little brother. These are his go to thermals for hunting, fishing, sledding, and playing with his dog in the cold winters back east! My brother has put these through the wringer and there are still looking brand new, the quality is solid. Sizing is true to size and no issues with shrinking. Great buy!

    Patagonia Thermals

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My Kids love these. It is our go to Thermals for winter sports. A must have. They hold up and keep you warm. I can pass these down to the next child. Their comfortable enough to wear as pajamas to bed or underneath snow pants.

    Winter necessity

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We love Patagonia Capilene for our kids. When they outgrow a set, we just order the next size up. And it's always in good enough condition to hand down to the next kid in line. It breathes well, keeps them warm, and washes easily. I do think the pants run a little long, but the excess material has never been a problem. IT just means we get an extra season of wear out of them!

Is there any difference really, in the Patagonia Capilene 3 boys long underwear and the girls other than the color choices? The Fog grey seems to be offered for both. I want to get the green color for my daughter, which is by the Boys selection - I just do not want the traditional Boy Underwear Double-layer easy-access front folds, if you know what I mean.....
