This shirt has been great. It's great as a layer or by itself. I really like it because it's long enough to stay down and not always ride up. It's just the right amount of stretch. I've worn it and washed it tons of times and it's still great.
My favorite shirt!
This is my favorite shirt ever! It is perfect for layering and cute enough to wear by itself. I used it in Costa Rica; it dries fast, it helped keep me warm in the mountains, and it kept the bugs off on the coast without being too hot. I would recommend it to anyone!
It's soft and fits exactly true to size with no baggy/strangely cut areas.
Great baselayer! Form fitting but not too tight, kept me warm but not smothered and it is a great color!
perfect lightweight chilly shirt
Fit is a little boxy, probably could have gone with a small and been fine. I'm 5'8" and a 34C. This shirt kicks butt at sweat wicking. Fabric is thin feeling, but still works well to insulate. Not the softest I've felt, and when the 3/4 zip is all the way up, it's a little tight, but overall, worth every penny.
Very warm and very good looking! It's amazingly thin yet warm!
I'd buy another one.
My red Capilene 2 Zip-Neck Shirt is comfortable and warm I bought a medium and could have worn a small, but I like the comfort of a little looseness.
Love this shirt - very comfortable and hard wearing
i convinced my girlfriend to get one because i have so many of em. (3) she loves hers. there's a teal color that isn't on here but now she's a diehard patagucci junkie. she loves the look and fit of it.
I love this shirt. I'd wear it every day if my roommate wouldn't make fun of me. It's warm and light and it keeps moisture off. I haven't had it for very long, but I'll be wearing it for climbing and marathon training.
I am an extremely sweaty woman. I cycle as my only transportation and arrive damp to work. I love my Capilene shirts. They dry very quickly, even under sweaters and I do not smell. The natural odor resistant material really works for me. The zipper is perfect for regulating temperature as well as revealing a little skin. I Love them and always want more colors.
A Staple in my Active Wardrobe
I've had two of these for a couple of years now, and I wear them constantly. In the summer they're great for cool evenings, and they're light enough to carry in your daypack just in case. In winter, they're great for layering. I wear them running, backpacking, and even around town. They look good, even after a couple years of use. These will be on my Christmas wish list this year. They are just so versatile. The fit is right on--fitted. Not loose, but not skin tight.

Write your question here.. Is the bitter chocolate-plum more purple or brown? I can't tell! Thanks!
The bitter chocolate in the Capilene 2 zip neck is definitely more purple than brown - great color.
I tend to live in my cap pullovers--2, 3, 4, years live--I am am 5'5" size 4 and used to order the medium for a fitted but able to put over a t shirt fit. This version has longer sleeves and is bigger through the shoulders so I ended up returning the medium for a small-it \fits perfectly. There is also a new to me zipper cover so that the collar lays a little differently than previous cap 2s - not crazy about it ...but still love my shirt.
Perfect base layer
Very thin fabric- great for right next to your skin. Leaves plenty of room for additional layers on top, like fleece. Wicks sweat away, ensuring you won't get the chills when you stop. Great fit- a slim fit, but still a little loose, and long.
Will this shrink if washed in hot water...
Will this shrink if washed in hot water and dried in dryer? I want it to shrink bc a M would be too big and I want it to fit like small in the capilene 2. (color I want is out in s)
This will not shrink, it's polyester. It might melt in a hot dryer, though.
Nancy and I have a bunch of Patagonia's capilene underwear in hot, warm, cold water. Dried them in crappy communal driers without temperature control and none of them have shrunk.
Great layering piece
The Patagonia capilene stuff is great - lightweight and way easier to take care of than my silk long underwear, which always snag on things. I have a crewneck as well that I wear under sweaters, but this style of top is great because I'm not a fan of full turtlenecks, so I like to keep it zipped up on blustery ski days or zip it down on warmer days so I don't overheat. These also withstand washing & drying without much wear & tear.

I love patagonia stuff, but am not crazy about this top. It's mostly the zipper that bugs me, and it might just be this particular shirt, but the zipped up neck seems to... collapse, I guess, when it's all the way up.
I prefer the button-up version of capilene shirts. Regardless, you can't beat them for their performance for outdoor activities.
The everything under shirt
I had to pry it off myself to get it into the wash I love it so much. The color and the style goes with everything in my wardrobe. Not only that, it's warm and it keeps it's shape. It's light and airy. The mock turtle collar is not a bother. In fact, if you ladies wanna look sexy, you bring the zipper down a tad, and looks nice! This is a great find!!
