comfortable and multi use, win-win

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I'm all about purchasing things that I can use in multiple settings. This cap 2 layer has been my go-to option a lot when climbing, hiking and yoga. I've been very happy with its comfort & how well it wicks. Its a great top on its own for those too cold for a t-shirt but too warm for a fleece situations. Also works well as a layer under other clothing.

The thumb loops are kind of silly. I haven't used them, but they're there if you need them.

some last advice: follow the care instructions, i've come across cap 2 shirts that have shrunk in some funky ways...

Responded on

Agreed! Definitely air-dry Patagonia's Capilene fabric, I've ruined at least 2 shirts due to shrinkage.

disappointed

  • Fit: True to size

Although it was really too sheet, it made me too warm. Not comfortable at all.

A nice lightweight option.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased this as a lightweight option for snowboarding/touring - something I could use on the warmer days. The fit is good (it's not as tailored as my Capilene 4 zip-neck) overall, the green color is great and it works very well. The thumb loops on this top is definitely of lesser quality than my Capilene 4 - where the 4 has a soft thumb loop, this one is just elastic as the commenter under me suggests. The fabric is a bit scratchier than my 4 but it's comfortable and I haven't noticed it beyond when I initially put it on.

All-in-all it's been a great alternative to my 4 and is much lighter in weight and warmth for those days when I don't need it.

Good shirt, not loving the "thumb loops"

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Purchased this in the Teal Green to wear as a base layer while skiing/snowboarding. I was comfy and it fit nicely. The only thing I didn't love about it was the thumb loops are pieces of elastic sewn to the hem of the sleeves, as opposed to the thumb holes you see in elongated sleeves that cover part of your hands. They were just awkward and uncomfortable. I'll probably end up cutting them out.

yes

I wear this like every time i go skiing/hiking/fishing/walking to school. its a great layer too so you can put a tshirt over it or the retool hoody or flannel or really anything over it. I usually wear a small but i got a medium because i like longer arms and the medium fits perfectly
