Great in-between layer

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

This layer has been awesome for the early fall weather we've been getting. A lot of the hikes I've been on lately start in the 30*s (F) and end when it's 50+*(F) out. This layer is perfect for both temps and keeps you warm/cool/dry. Really awesome tech on these pants.

Patagonia light bottoms

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small
  • Height: 6'1"
    Weight: 165 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

Picked these up with outlet pricing, and with free two day shipping from Backcountry they arrived quickly. On the last couple of adventures my primary use for these was sleeping. After a day innawoods I'll hang all my stuff, throw these on and a light long sleeve, hop into the sleeping bag, and wake up warm and dry. Nobody wants to wake up sweaty. Great texture on these, they are comfy and breathe well, no hot spots or seams rubbing. Didn't smell at all after multiple days hiking in it, doesn't hold odor. They are very packable, compressing down to nothing. I have used them under my hiking pants when the temps began to drop, forgetting they were even there. Like I've said in all my other reviews, Patagonia stands by their product, and when it comes to layering, is second to none. I'm gonna say it runs small, but that's the "slim fit". I'm a thin guy, and the large fit me perfect.

feel very good

  • Height: 69'
    Weight: 140 lbs
    Size Purchased: L

Cold weather has not arrived, so I just try to wear a, feel very good, wearing nothing at the bottom is not just feeling.

Fabulous light weight

I wear the capilene tops every day. These bottoms are for when I am out and it's cold so they get a bit less use but I love them no less. I will definitely buy again.

    Good Baselayer

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size
    • Height: 5'9"
      Weight: 158 lbs
      Size Purchased: Medium

Love it, great for autumn layering and for summer hiking/camping in cooler temps. It's quick-drying, and so comfortable.

    Great Baselayer

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size

Best baselayer bottoms I have owned. I have been wearing them all season under ski pants and they are incredibly comfortable. They breathe very well and are a great fit. I actually wear these around the house as pajama bottoms throughout the cold winter nights, they are so nice. I bought my son the same Capilene bottoms and he refuses to take them off when we get home from skiing. I will be buying more.....

    Good, but not durable

I watched a friends pair of capilene 2s fall apart with in a month on the Appalachian trail. A pair of long underwear from wal-mart lasted longer...

Aside from their lack or durability, they are nice, breathable and light weight.

      Solid & Reasonably Priced

I wish the fit was a little tighter and prefer a more stretchy fabric for base layers like this but it's nonetheless solid and reasonably priced.

        Alpine Fishing pants.

        Alpine Fishing pants.

I grab these things for summer alpine backpacking. I throw these puppies on in the evening and wear them on frosty mornings too.

        Every Day of the Winter.

        • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit:True to size

I've been wearing these, or earlier versions, almost every winter day for 15 years. They last forever!

        Go to base layer

        • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit:True to size

I love these things, they breath, they stretch they fit great. they have been my go to for a long time ( i have an older model). the fabric is durable and dries way fast. I have used them day in and day out in the backcountry and ice climbing for the past two years and they have never let me down.
