Description

Stay warm and dry.

When it's time to charge the mountain, make sure you're wearing Patagonia's fastest-drying baselayer, the Women's Capilene 2 Lightweight Bottom. This slim-fit moisture-wicking bottom is ideal for spring skiing, hikes in moderate temps, or under a pair of shorts for an early-morning run. The open knit promotes airflow and ventilation and moves with you when you work hard. Keep charging in comfort, because this baselayer has a gusseted crotch for unimpeded mobility and an elastic waistband that's brushed for next-to-skin softness. The Cap 2 Bottom is treated with Polygiene permanent odor control, so you can wear it for a couple of outings and not fear the funk. When you have to part ways with this excellent bottom, it is fully recyclable through the Common Threads program.

Awesome

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

The cut/pattern of these is awesome. The waistband is perfect for wearing under a harness--nice and flat. I wear these under my climbing pants on chilly fall days and if the temperature cranks up high enough by midday, I just take my pants off and wear these as tights. They don't look like long johns, especially with the great colors they come in. They're not the most abrasion resistant as far as outerwear goes, but they do the job in a pinch. When I'm not wearing them at the crag, I find myself wearing them around the house; they are THAT comfortable.

I'm not sure I'd say they run small, but they do seem snug. I'm 112lbs, 5'4" and I wouldn't want to be much bigger to fit the size XS. Maybe another 5lbs?

I also have these in the Capilene 4 weight and they are COZY.
