Perfect running bottom

My ideology has always been to thoroughly test out my equipment at home before I take it into the mountains. With the Patagonia Capilene Bottoms, I decided to first try these bad boys out while attending a cold, Thursday night Virginia Tech football game.

The good news: These pants feel incredible! They're rather stretchy and fit me very well. I'm roughly 6'4, 225, with a 36/38 waist. I ordered the XLs and I had no problems at all, anywhere, in regards to the size. Honestly, they might be the best fitting bottoms I've ever purchased.

The bad news: these bottoms simply aren't made for the cold nights in Blacksburg. The temperatures dropped to 28 that night and by halftime I was already alittle chilly. Granted, I wore these pants under a pair of jeans, but my thighs for some reason just kept getting cold. I wore wool socks and cowboy boots (its a Southern thing), and the bottoms tucked in nicely to the socks and the boots. So from the knee down I was completely warm, but again, the thigh area just became cold.

After that game, I wore the bottoms once again while running in about 35 degree temps. This time around, they worked very well, and I had no problem at all with the cold. Maybe I stayed warm because I was moving, and was only cold at the game because I was more stationary? I don't know.

I'll continue to test this out alittle bit more and will continue to update with my findings
