I want to squeeze my kid in this thing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My son has been cozy and warm in this thing everywhere from ranch work in windy and cold Cody, Wyoming, to ski school in all conditions in Park City.
He looks adorable in this, which is important because sometimes 6 year old boys need all the help they can get with their mothers.
My only complaint is that it's hard to clean. NOT so great for a 6 year old who's helping out in the chicken coop and tosses his coat on the playground when he's he's playing hard. Not sure if there's any way Patagonia can improve this, probably tough with that shiny fabric.

Good Quality!

  • Gender: Female

This is probably one of the nicest down coats you can buy for kids! Today the windchill is 15 degrees below zero in Chicago and it's keeping my son warm!

This runs also true to size (according to the chart), if not on the larger side.

The 2 way zippers are a little bit harder for young kids, partly because it's a parka so it's long and hard to find the bottome of the coat.

not great

  • Gender: Female

I have several adult patagonias, and I have always been impressed on how they rarely shed feathers, if ever. WELL, something went wrong here, because even though it is chock full of down, it sheds CONSTANTLY. ANd, my daughter cannot for the life of her work her zipper, and her mother is an OT, so she knows her stuff. TOTALLY DEfective.
