It's a jacket—no, a sweater—no, it's something even better. The Patagonia Women's Better Sweater Jacket has the texture of a heathered yarn-knit sweater, but the interior feels like soft fuzzy fleece. Zippered hand warmer pockets keep your paws nice and cozy during winter walks, and the zip sleeve pocket securely stashes your card and key. I have a few of these and love them - but I ordered the sable brown on sale and it is has a lot of pink/purple in the weave. The trim also has a purple tint. Yuck.

My wife loves this sweater and finds herself wearing it nearly every day. Fits great, looks even better and technical enough to wear as a base layer.

Love that this sweater is functional and easy to care for like fleece, but looks like a sweater. I'm 5'5 and 125 pounds and the small fit just right. ONly down side is the high price, get it on sale if you can!

This jacket is warm yet not bulky. The only problem with it is I wear it everyday!

The jacket is a good weight and feels soft, however I sadly returned it because the arms are cut too small. With a long-sleeved shirt underneath the jacket, is too tight in the arms.
Also, the "garnet" color as pictured on this website is not the true color. It actually looks more like cranberry.

I always dress in layers, many layers. I was looking for something that I could use for every day use so that I could retire the sweatshirt/fleece look in efforts to look a little nicer from 8 - 5 if ya catch my drift. Along came the better sweater, thankfully. I wear it close to everyday. The fleece inside is very soft and comfortable. I highly recommend it.
Sizing: I went a size up, it's a slim fit. The torso is quite long, which I prefer to something more cropped. All in all, great buy.
