Barely noticeable underwear.

Take a mountain bike ride or trail run after work and you’ll know the Patagonia Women’s Barely Hipster was the right choice for underwear. Seamless construction won’t rub you the wrong way or move around whether you’re in the office chair or in the saddle. And best of all, the recycled materials dry quickly after long days and tough yoga sessions, so you’ll be more comfortable than you ever were in your cotton undies.

Here's what others have to say...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I love these underwear. They are comfortable and very smooth. They don't ride up, nor do they chafe. They're as comfortable in the boardroom as they are in the backcountry. Even better, they're quick drying! I bought one pair and was hesitant because they're more than I usually pay for underwear, but I get such use out of them i bought several more pairs!

Best underwear I've found

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

These breathe and stay put - 2 things that apparently are difficult for manufacturers to achieve. They are pricey but are worth it. I wash on gentle in a bag and hang to dry.

great great underwear!

love them! light and quick drying, sit low, don't ride up, don't get wedgies. running in them is a joy, so comfortable and can barely feel them. i have a pair in black color and they are super cute! i'm 5' 2'', 115 lb and XS fits me great. i would get more if they weren't so pricey.

Great comfort but a bit granny looking

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

These are comfortable, fit good, made of nice fabric, but are pretty granny and unflattering in the looks dept. Wish there was an in between these and their low rider bikinis. Oh well. Will wear them when active and not on dates.

Might be my new go-to sports undies

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

My first impression is very positive--I normally wear Moving Comfort underwear for activity but these are softer and lighter. The fit is great, and I don't think they look like granny pants as some have said, but to each their own! Interested to see how they last. Note: I bought a pair of the Barely Bikini also in M and they felt very small. They went back.

Alright but Grandma Cut For Sure

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These do not fit like they look in the photo. they are not hipsters but full coverage. They look dorky and don't work well under most of my pants since I wear lower cut pants. They are comfortable but the material is also a bit strange. Not my favorites by a long shot.

My New Favorite - Light, Comfy, Cute

  • Gender:Female
  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

After 6 years of loyalty to another brand, the Patagonia Barely Hipsters are now officially my new favorite undies. The fabric feels great on, is super thin and stretchable, but still sturdy. There's enough coverage to insure you don't end up with panty lines but not so much that they cross the line from cute and functional to purely functional. As other reviewers have said, they stay put. No riding up, no wedgies, no readjusting even after strenuous activity. I travel for long periods of time with just 3 pair. They are so thin that they take up no room in my pack and they easily dry overnight when I hang them out after hand washing. I wear a small in other brands, and the small in these fits me perfectly. The Deep Plum color is particularly nice.

Not my favorite

I am a wholehearted fan of the Patagonia boy-cut undies, but these just didn't fit quite as well. The leg holes seemed a bit tight for the size.

Coverage is full bordering on frumpy, not as cute as one would predict from the product photos.

Technical features wise - quick drying, lightweight, and breathable. High quality like everything else from Patagonia.

    Functional but not cute

My wife likes these for outdoor activities because they are comfortable and prevent chaffing; however, she does not think they are very cute on.

      Stays put

I tried these on are recent trip to S.America. They dry fast and are very comfy.. Didn''t notice panty lines and wore them hiking and horseback riding. No rise up problems. Elastic band very confortable and snug. Perfect hip/ full bikini coverage.[not to short on but]. I wear a size 6 in undies, a 4-6 trouser and have 36" hips. Fabric very thin but not see thru and stretchy.

        Patagonia Barely Hipster

Great pair of underwear, super comfy, but I feel like they run a little big. I am normally a medium, but these felt almost baggy, not a plus. But the lightweight material and neutral colors make up for the fit (at least they don't ride up).

          Very comfy!

Nice summer option and alternative to the Active Hipster (which I also love). These are much lighter than the Active line, but every bit as great for active people, and especially great for hot summer days of hiking. The waist band is really smooth, and like the product title claims, feels like it's barely there.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the black has the same fabric pattern as the other two.
