  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for my mother for Xmas. She loves it. The jacket has a great, flattering fit and is a bit longer in the sleeves/torso which is great for taller women. It's totally windproof and has a great, durable lining. It is soft and comfortable while retaining functionality.

I returned the North Face Calentito jacket for the Adze, because I didn't like the fit of the Calentito, and have been very happy with it. I got this jacket to take backpacking, so wanted something warm, versatile, and lightweight. I took it on a two week trip to Peru, and it was perfect. Easy to wear under or over other layers. I ordered it in Forge Gray and LOVE the color. The grey is a perfect neutral color for versatility, and the pink adds a feminine touch. My only complaint is that the sleeves were too long for me, and unless I rolled them up a bit, there was a lot of extra fabric in my arms. This seems to be true of a lot of jackets for me, though. I'm 5'2, 120 pounds, and ordered the XS.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised when I got this jacket. I have other softshell jackets and Patagonia hit it right and takes the prize with the Adze Softshell Jacket. The fabric is light and flexible with one of the more comfortable linings you can get, all with the windblock and protection they promise. As far as fit and cut, they've nailed it again. The sleeve length is generous and the cut is a flattering regular fit without being boxy. I'm between sizes so I went up and by doing so there was plenty of room. If you plan to do a bit of layering go up in size; if layering is light or this is just a quick go-to jacket to battle the elements for an errand, and you're between sizes like me, then getting the smaller size will work too (that way great for layering UNDER another outer layer too!) Love it for sure!

So, loved the color and the material was a good quality for the price. The length of the sleeve were good as well. I own several Patagonia fleece and never had an issue with the fit. I have a small bust (32C) and it looked like a had another set of breasts under my arm pits. There was TONS of extra fabric and it was tight across my hips. If you have an athletic, swimmer build...by that I mean are "V" shaped, then this is a great jacket for you. It was uncomfortable and NOT flattering for my build. I ordered the Small.

Great jacket. Light weight, but full of protection against the wind.
