BLACK MESH BRA REVIEW

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Let me first say, I have 10+ of these bras (same size: M) and have been wearing them since 2006/2007.
I noticed a few years back they changed the material they use. The new material is not as durable/substantial as it use to be.
That did not bother me. What does bother me, is : I ordered a BLACK Medium (same as I have always been: I am 140LB 5'5 and am a 34B) recently and could not even get it over my head. I gave this to my sister who normally wears xs in patagonia: she could barely get the thing off once she got it on. I am so disappointed in Patagonia for this. For the price, I should be getting the best. This is not even close!
Thanks for reading.

I really do wear these bras EVERY DAY! LOVE Them.

Feels like nothing!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

This little bra is so comfortable--it really feels like you're not wearing anything. Some sports bras start to get annoying after wearing them all day, but I've worn this on a 4 day backpacking trip--hiking, sleeping, swimming, and it never started to rub or feel restricting. I agree with the other gals--this runs SMALL. I am a 32A and usually wear a XS in Patagonia, but I have this bra in a small and it fits snug, but comfortable.

Roll the dice on size

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

Bought 2 of these in size M, one magenta and one black. The magenta one fits perfectly...snug, but the right amount of snug (5 stars); the black one required my best David Copperfield skills to get on/off...way small! Had to return...will need to try on in store in future, or hope for free return shipping.

Nothing but Support!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Nothing worse than spending money on a bad sports bra, but since my first Patagonia Active Mesh Bra I have been a believer. They are great for running, yoga, or just under a t-shirt around town. I love that they come in solid colors and different patterns and it's the only sports bra I will wear now. Take your shirt off ladies and show off that active mesh bra because it's a good one.

I would agree that this product does run a little small compared to other brands, but I order my normal size as it gives more support.

Still Love It

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Finally got another one to replace the oldie, and still love this bra just as much! It does fit small, but I prefer a tighter fit in this model for high impact sports. It wicks well, and is comfortable to wear underneath something, or all by itself. I would most definitely recommend it for any lady!

Tight and Small

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Tight and Small is a good thing for my wife. She is small. She loves this bra and has multiples. However, she did order a size up and went with a medium. It is her favorite sports bra she's ever owned.

Perfect for running

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I bought a couple of these for my roommate. They are her favorite sports bras to run in. She prefers them tight so with a chest size around 34 c/d, she wears a size medium.

Super comfortable and they last forever!

Order a size up!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

These definitely run small and I would recommend ordering a size up. I'm 5'6", 135 lbs, a 36B and typically wear mediums in just about everything from Patagonia. I ordered a large based on other reviewers comments and I'm glad I did -- even the large is slightly snug on me. So if you want something more forgiving or if you are more well-endowed, you might consider even two sizes up. Otherwise, I love the bra -- cute, comfortable, soft and supportive.

Responded on

100% agree with sizing assessment! These run SMALL!

Bad-ass Bra

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

This bra is pretty great. I particularly like it for those desert days where a full shirt is just not an option. It's also really nice for climbing and jogs. As for moisture, it totally keeps you dry and happy. I think Patagucci did a stellar job with the colors and design, but the reviews below this are spot on for sizing. I'm a small normally, and had to opt for a medium.

CONCLUSION: Cool, comfortable, sporty. I would recommend this to all the ladies.

SO SMALL!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I love these - but they really do run small. I'm 5'2, 100lbs, 32A and order the smallest of everything by default, but in these I'm a medium. I can't imagine who the XS is for...toddlers? Backcountry's amazing, but don't order these online. Definitely worth trying on.

Runs Small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Really like the design of this sports bra. I am 5'7", 130, 34D and usually wear a small or medium in everything. The medium in this bra was uncomfortably tight. It's the right size according to the chart, however, if you're busty, may want to size up. Or maybe the fit just wasn't for me! Otherwise, great material and very pretty pattern (netta graphic, aloe green.)

Love It!

Drys quickly, comfortable to wear or an extended workout or a day on the go. Will definitely order more!

My Favorites!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What can I say, I own at least 15 of these - I like getting new colors / prints. I wear them for every run, from easy to long training and marathons. They work for me!

Great!

I LOVE this sports bra. I am 5 foot and 115 lbs, I got a small and found it to be perfect (I am a 34B). It doesn't show my nips and it supports what little I have very comfortably. I can even wear it to bed it is so light weight and comfortable. I want one in every color.

great for petite women

i love these bras. i am 5'3", 107lbs & the XS fits me just fine. they are incredibly supportive for just about any activity (i run, climb, ski & play vball). i have 3 now & would love to get more. oh, & they last FOREVER. i never put my bras in the dryer, so i've never had any issues w/ the elastic wearing down or the size changing after time.

Functional & Stylish Sports Bra

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The style drew me to this bra, but the great quality is what got me hooked! A great bra to throw on for a jog or hike. The material is comfortable and wicks water away quickly. I am a 34D, 5'6",135 lbs and got a size medium but probably would go up a size for a little more room. I stuck with the medium though and can't complain too much.

Sizing info

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I found the sizing on this one to run small. I am a true size SMALL in basically all Patagonia products and the SMALL on this bra was way too tight. I am 5'3" and 120 lbs with a B cup chest, a size Medium would have been a much better fit.

Best sports bra I have ever own

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I literally will only buy these sports bras. They are great for running, yoga, climbing, traveling, mountaineering- you name it. They last forever as well!

Not comfortable

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this bra a while ago and it is not a very soft. I tried to wear it and wash it a bunch of times but it is still pretty rough. It chafes in front my armpits so much that I can barely stand to wear it for an entire day on the river. The other thing I don't like about it is that the bottom of it is not any tighter than the rest of it, so if you stash a key or anything in your bra, they will fall out. Big bummer Patagonia, not recommended.

Awesome

Have worn this bra for almost a year and am buying another to have 2. It breathes, great fit, style, and support.
