Description

Not being sweat-soaked after running miles on the trail? Now, that is enough said.

You are an active woman, and you need the Patagonia Women’s Active Hipster Brief. Enough said? Well, not quite. The real reason is that the environmentally friendly material wicks moisture from your skin, so even if you are working hard on the trail, you won’t have to feel so sweaty or clammy.

Why did I wait so long to buy these?

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

For some reason I thought that buying "technical" panties was over kill. How wrong was I? I really don't know how I lived without these. Really.

Great for layering for long days in the backcountry, multiday trips in the wilderness or for travel. Keeps you dry when you are moving, quick to wash and so fast to dry you can wash them overnight hang them in your tent and pop them on the next day.

Great underwear

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I've worn these for years. I pick up a couple pairs every once in a while, and I wear them camping and working outdoors. They've also become my favorite underwear for indoor days too. The wide band helps them sit well without pinching or moving around, and the bottoms are sized just right to hug the butt without riding up or sagging. They're comfortable and do a good job of wicking moisture, and they last for a long, long time. I'm 5'11" and 145lbs, and I wear a size S.

Perfect Fit

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I originally bough one pair of this underwear for outdoor activities where quick drying non cotton ones are preferable. I now have 5 pairs and wear them every day year round. They are super comfortable, the leg opening is wide enough that it does not restrict or squeeze and the higher waist hem makes them stay in place, no matter if I'm working in my office, sweating a 15 mile hike or climbing 14,000 peak.

I am 120 lb and I wear size S.

Favorite river undies!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Swimsuits are a terrible thing to wear in water! They take forever to dry and stink if you wear them for a week on a river trip. These are my favorite thing to wear under my shorts on the river. They dry quick and are really cute. My favorite thing about them is the super wide waist band, which really helps with the muffin top situation. :)

She LOVES Them!

My wife picked these out to try & she is so happy with these! They look great & hold up well! Excellent Patagonia Quality.

Oddly enough...best pregnancy undies

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

After dealing with my normal cotton undies falling off my rear end, I broke down and bought a pair of these beauties at the recommendation of a runner friend. Little did I know these would become the staple underwear of my entire pregnancy. These are stretchy enough to accommodate a growing belly, and yet never let me down in the stay-in-place department. They have survived hiking, yoga and biking in the early months and continue to be the fast-drying, wicking stretchy wonders they are. My only complaint is that the printing on the pink color tends to look a bit suggestive of a wild lady garden show through if you catch my drift. I would stick to solid colors as my personal preference.

I asked for these as stocking stuffers for post-pregnancy wear as well. For sizing info: I was 150 lbs a wore a medium, 9 months and 25 lbs. later the medium is still working!

Only underwear you'll ever need

husband's note: except for dates. wife's review: took only 2 pairs on a 7 day glacier trip in AK and was totally happy. great in all conditions including being worn as a swim suit bottom. quick drying, great durability. had them since January 2010 and they still look and perform like new. the thick waist band is nice when layering or having the hip belt of a backpack across the top.

Works great! long lasting

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

The only underwear I brought on a six-month contract in remote South Sudan was five pairs of these Patagonia briefs. All of them survived the trip (and several months into a trip, it's nice to at least own one item that always feels like new). Easy to clean and quick drying. A "must have" for Peace Corps volunteers or international aid workers.

So comfy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Super comfortable and keeps you dry when active. No bunching as far as I can tell. I'm 5'9" and 140 lbs. and the M fits perfectly.

Love love love

If these were all I had for undies, I would be satisfied.

Nice cut

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like the cut on these alot. Super cute but my main issue is occasional rubbing at the leg openings. The trim on the legs has a slight abrasiveness if you do a lot of moving in these. Otherwise-top notch!

Nothing beats these!

So comfortable, fits wells, great breathable material, and super durable. Can't say enough great things about these - truly perfect. I'm 5'9" and 115lbs (wear a size 2/26 pant) and the size XS fits like a dream. Between this and the barely hipster, I've replaced all my other panties with these.

Love these

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Everytime I see these on sale I pick up a couple of pair. I have "good glutes"so most underwear tends to give me wedgies. Not these. The wide waist band is very comfortable and smooth. It doesn't create muffin top and stays in place. It is very breathable and doesn't get clammy.

Responded on

Excellent, undies that don't ride up, every girls best friend, sick of stealing my husbands undies and looking like a complete knob. Cheers

love the candy cane

I owned two pair of active briefs before ordering these and have loved them. It seemed like these where made from a different material than my previous pairs and this material did not wick as well as those. With that said I still love the smooth seamless lines that these offer as well as the fit.

Depends on your preference

I prefer merino over these any day. I can't wear these when I work out because I don't feel like they wick moisture the way merino does and polyester is not an anti-microbial so take that as you will. They're really cute, but not the performance I was looking for. It all depends on your preference, though. If you like polyester, you'll love these.

So what's your preferred merino active brief? Would love to know....

Go to Brief

With my last order I now only have Patagonia Briefs. The fit is perfect. Colors are cute. Breifs keep you warm on cool days and wick on hot days.
