    The best investment.

    As more and more parts and frames and wheels are made from carbon fiber, proper torque becomes even more important. While you could certainly crush or crack an aluminum or steel component, you had a pretty good idea what ‘too tight’ felt like. Carbon’s a bit different, and because of that, we advocate investing in a torque wrench like the Park Tool Ratcheting Torque Wrench. It works like your favorite socket wrench, but it clicks when you’ve reached the torque value you set it to, which keeps your bars, stem, pivots, seat collar, saddle rails, and just about everything else from cracking.

    Great for the price, a must-have

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    I've really enjoyed this torque wrench. It's a must-have for carbon bikes/parts. It's sturdy, easy to use, and comes in a nice portable case to protect the wrecnch. At first I was taken aback by the plastic handle but it has held up well and my initial concerns about durability are gone. It does not come with bits so you will need to buy those separately if you don't already have them. The 5-15nM is great for carbon handlebars, seatposts, and frame pivots. That's the one I bought and it's been perfect for everything I need on my bike. It seems to be accurate as far as I can tell.

    Torque it!

    A must have in the day of carbon and light weight parts. Easy to adjust to the torque setting you need and easy to use to set the torque of your parts as you install the on your bike.

    You need this!

    Don't crack your carbon bits! Park Tool makes it super easy for you to install components and torque them to spec. You get a very clear "click" letting you know that you've reached the torque setting. If you do any sort of work on your bike this is a must have.

    Torque wrenches are now a must have with the amount of carbon fiber that comes on most high end bikes. Torque specs are not just suggestions they are mandatory. Carbon will crack if not torque properly. Park tools has made it easy for us all to never over torque our carbon pieces. This torque wrench is simple and accurate. Must have!

    Good tool to have....

      This is one of those tools you may overlook, but once you have it, you wonder what you ever did without it. I have used this a bunch since I purchased it last month. So far I have used it on my shifters, brake levers, dropper seatpost lever, and cleats. It's nice to know I am torquing those items to manufacturer specs. I'd give it 5 stars, but it doesn't come with any attachements like different sized hex bits and such.

      The pictures and cart options for this are for the TW-6, but the description/specs are for the TW-5, which one is it?

      The Tw-5 torques from 3-15 Newton Meters or 26 -132 inch pounds and has a 1/4 inch drive

      The Tw-6 torques from 10-60 Newton Meter range or 88-530 Inch Pounds and has a 3/8 inch drive.

      Most seatposts on carbon frames torque to 5NM, so the TW-5 is best.

      I like the pedro's pro torque because it has a wider range (45 - 250 Inch-Pounds) the is better for home mechanics who can't afford both a 1/4 and 3/8 torque wrench.

      This is an ultra-low torque wrench that maxes out at 11ft/lb. Most bike bolts are measured in inch/pound or Newton meters (NM), 5NM is usually the minimum. This is a great wrench if you are tightening bolts on carbon frames, seat posts, stems, and bars. Outside that it is a bit of a specialty low-torque device in my opinion.

      I recommend the Pedro's Pro Torque as a generic wrench (20 – 250 inch-lbs). It is less accurate but more practical.
