You’ve bought yourself a great tent (the Promontory 8-person tent, in fact), and you’d like it to last. So, what do you do? You get the Paha Que Promontory Footprint to increase the longevity of your tent floor. It is compatible with your tent’s existing poles, so it’s easy to incorporate into setup, and it will also give you extra protection from rocks and sticks and the other rough stuff that always seems to end up in the woods.
It just makes sense to buy the footprint with the tent. A high quality tarp is going to set you back about the same amount of money and it is likely NOT to be the proper size. This was a no brainer for me.
