Perry Mesa Tent 8-person 3-season

On a hot, buggy summer night with a chance of rain or wind (that is, most of them) you want the airiness of a screen room and the protection of a full-wall tent. The Paha Que Perry Mesa 3-Season Tent is an ingeniously versatile mixture of family camping tent and screen room. A mesh roof helps circulate air, and half of the Perry Mesa is a screen room with walls of no-see-um mesh. In case of rain, put cover the mesh roof with the rainfly and drop the screen room doors' awnings. Gear and people stay dry in the screen room, which doubles as a giant vestibule for the tent half of the Perry Mesa. This Paha Que shelter sleeps four to six inside the tent and four in the screen room.

Bottom Line: Did someone say party tent?

It takes us about 15 to 20 minutes to set up our tent from laying down the tarp under the tent to putting on the rainfly. We didn't find it difficult at all and Paha Que has a video on their website demonstrating the setup process.

Great, GIANT tent

If you don't care about weight, this is the one. I don't have anything to really compare it to, but this is one great tent for what it is - a REALLY heavy monster that will sleep 2 adults and 4 dogs easily. My wife and I needed a tent for camping on Cape Cod with our dogs and bought this. And we are SO glad we picked this one - others had reviews saying they weren't sturdy, poles broke, et cetera. We were in Cataumet on mid June last year and a huge storm hit with pouring rain for hours and hours along with horrendous winds trying to rip the tent to shreds. Tent, poles, everything held up fine. Used it again for www.summerween.com and it makes for a great place to sleep, store costumes and use as a changing room. Also worked great in on a southern Utah camping trip - see http://picasaweb.google.com/davidbaker/081016_19chuteCANYONshindigOLY510#5259216939304316066

Hey - looks similar to my eureka that leaks like a sieve in rain. How do I know this thing is really waterproof?!!? My son is hell bent on a screen (party) room, but I'm concerned that this rainfly looks like the same type as my Eureka - doesn't come down too far. The leaking we've had is the unprotected sides - touch em and it's all over. I'm looking for really waterproof for this money. Please advise!

Another great Paha Que product!

We have had the Paha Que's Promontory tent and the 12 x 12 screen room for several years now and love them. We have kept dry in some heavy downpours in both products. Now that we are both 60 the screen room is getting difficult for us to put up mainly because of it's great height and we decided to purchase the Perry Mesa for a replacement screen room. We are so glad we did. It's the same great quality and using the footprint we can let our 3 dogs loose inside it just like in the tent. We have plenty of room, we stay dry and we can sit inside on cool evenings and relax.

I'm Jason from Paha Que. The Perry Mesa is 10x14 total size. The ScreenRoom does not have a floor. ScreenRooms typically don't. But there is an optional foot print that gives it a floor. You enter the ScreenRoom section from one of two entrances and from there enter the tent side. I love it because I can keep my 4 wheeler in the SR and still have an incredible amount of space for all my stuff and air mattress.
