This shelter is just awesome!
It will provide what you need on every adventure, you can use it on the beach, the desert, the mountain, even in your backyard!
It's really easy to setup and pretty solid when you finish, it can even resist a moderate wind without anchors! Two persons will be the ideal to set it up, but don't worry if you are alone, it will take a bit more of effort but it's completely doable!
High quality and highly recommended!
Paha Que in Windy Conditions
Took a BEATING and Stood Up to the Test!
I have the Cottonwood 10 x 10 (not the XLT, but essentially the same).
Took it camping this past weekend in the dunes at Assateague Island National Seashore. We knew there was a chance of "scatter t-storms" but weren't going to let the weathermen ruin the weekend.
Long story short, first time setup was challenging, but it was dark and windy. When the wind really started to pick up, we made sure our guylines were perfectly anchored. I backed up my pole stakes with a few sand anchors too.
This 10x10 road out the first night without breaking a sweat, and then stood up to a heavy rainstorm with nervously strong gusts of wind for a few hours the following day. Other shelters around us were damaged, but not ours. Nothing moved, no bend poles, no worries!
Are there actually two (2) awnings included...
Are there actually two (2) awnings included with the shelter and are there two (2) sets (4 poles) for setting up both awnings?
There are indeed two awnings, but it would appear that there are two sets of two poles for setting up the awnings.
