The Pacific Outdoor Equipment InsulMat SL-Mtn sleeping pad takes the innovations of the Hyper-Lite series pads and applies it to an even lighter weight full closed cell four-season foam pad. Combining PE foam and a thick EVA shoulder and hip inserts, the SL-Mtn provides a new level of comfort, support, and insulation. The thicker foam provides more insulation against snow and frozen winter ground.

Bottom Line: Slumber in a winter wonderland.

Warm and comfy

I really like the closed cell foam that Pac Outdoor uses over other types of foam. It is soft, squishy, warm, and LIGHT! My only complaint, as another poster noted, is that the bottom of the foam is pretty soft, and will show scarring from sitting on granite and/or scraping in brush and trees (if tied to the outside of pack). I just cover it with a small nylon rain cover I have for a daypack and then lash it to the front of my pack.

Lightweight, comfy, what more can you want?

I bought this pad to be the 'frame' for a frameless pack. It works great! It weighs much less than a full length ridge/Z-rest and is also more comfortable. The orange soft foam around the torso area makes a huge comfort difference, and it is very warm and insulates well. The one thought for the potential buyer is that the bottom foam, though warm, is not super durable. I prefer to use a ground tarp/Tyvek under it, and when it's not in my pack being protected (i.e. when I need to strap it to the outside) I put it in a stuff sack. But overall, this is the best foam ground pad I've used (out of four others).
