Wider and deeper than some of Pacific Outdoor Equipment's other bike commuting packs, the tough Crank Backpack has internal pockets and a large flap-top opening to make it easy to haul it all. Stash a day's worth of books, a spare layer, and a lunch inside this pack and hit the pavement. Padded shoulder straps take the bite out of a particularly heavy load, and a reflective stripe down the pack helps you stay visible in traffic at dusk.
Bottom Line: Built for commuters who need to carry a little extra.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

On a happier note, the side zippered pocket is large enough to comfortably store items small regularly accessed items, like a cell phone, headphones, pen---and even a camping spork. =) The bag is comfortable to wear while riding, as well as just around town. POE could do with moving the inner mesh pocket to the inner front of the bag, though, and possibly securing it there (like REI does with their Flash packs), as it tends to get in the way just hanging loose inside the bag (with a few items inside it); I find myself flipping it out of the way a lot in order to put a laptop sleeve behind it.

I am so disappointed to hear about these design flaws. I've had a Pacific Outdoor equipment biking bag for about 7-8 years now - I've loved it. It has a zipper feature. The issue for me is that one of my dogs chewed the zipper last night and so I am trying to find a replacement and went right to this company since my other POE backpack had served me so well. Gosh- should I try this replacement?

moh5542018, I had that exact same thing happen to me regarding the main strap---and I, too, have since tied the strap to the handle in the interim. I'd only had the bag about a month or less, myself. I wrote Pacific Outdoor Equipment through their website contact page about a month ago, but haven't heard back from them yet. While I like their asthetic design, I'm not sure I'll purchase one of their products anytime soon (at least, not until they fulfill their guarantee to replace the bag because of shoddy workmanship, and/or demonstrate that their newer products won't fail like this one did).
Change me.
looks great, sturdy overall, but poor-quality main strap attachment point
