injinji Performance Micro Toe Sock

The injinji Performance Micro Sock's below-the-ankle cut goes well with summer trail running, biking, and the anatomical toe design eliminates friction to reduce the chance of blisters. A combination of Coolmax and Lycra gives these injinji socks excellent wicking ability and a close, snug fit. The Performance Micro socks are lightweight enough to keep your feet from overheating on warm days, so you won't finish your run with soaked feet.

Bottom Line: Go light with the below-the-ankle injinji Performance Micro Sock.

Butter for your Toes!

By:
November 18, 2008

These socks are great! I use them everywhere but intentionally bought them for running. They're the best for avoiding blisters between your toes which is something I've suffered with for a lot of years. They've lasted a really long time which really surprised me. The only thing I'd warn against is that these shorter socks tend to slip down on your heel in general. Aside of that they're amazing!

micro sock

i am a sock nut, especially toe socks...i was around in the seventies when they first became popular, they are not easy to find in the ankle style and go great with your crocs and the teva apres clog or just around the house in your sock feet! my only regret is that i only bought one pair, see you again soon.

Make a huge difference

By:
August 30, 2008

These socks are amazing. They do not slip on your foot and make your foot work much more naturally. Wearing the same shoe and using a regular running sock vs. a pair of injinji's my feet feel much better after a run or any other athletic activity. They are also the only type of sock you can use with Vibrams 5 Fingers which have become my favorite shoe...

Men, don't fear the toe sock anymore

By:
July 25, 2008

I am obsessed with running and own all 10 socks from runnersworld.com's review of the top 10 socks of 08' and Injinji (which was in there) is the best sock to wear to prevent blisters. It is comfortable, breathable and is a nice sock to wear around the house or during a marathon. I run 5 miles+ a day and should know that these socks work. Now its obvious that the socks won't last as long as normal socks because of the toes, they wear faster yes but unless you're running more than 50 miles a week, they will last you a good while. I've had mine a month and they work as good as the first run. Don't worry about getting used to the toes. Men, dont be ashamed to wear these socks, they work. Now they are a little tough to get on at first but it gets easier. I would advise to getting Pearl Izumi socks as well, they are just as amazing.

NOT a runner!

By:
June 16, 2009

I don't run, I walk. Occasionally, I hike 3-5 miles. I also have hammer toes on my pinkie toes. For 50 years, I have suffered with foot blisters between my toes and on the balls of my feet, especially when I travel to humid climates. Even a podiatrist couldn't help. But these socks have been great! Not only do they help prevent between the toe blisters, they also help with the blisters on my soles. Now, when I am about to walk/hike/vacation, I use pieces of duct tape on the balls of my feet under Injinji Performance Micro Socks. No more blisters - - anywhere!! Thank you for developing this product. Signed, a six-pair owner.

Toe socks - not just for running!

By:
October 20, 2008

Make no mistake, I get as much enjoyment out of these socks just walking around my house and picking stuff up w/ my toes as I do using them to run in!

That said, they are great for running/lifting/biking/whatevs. The first thing I noticed was that my shoes seemed bigger, because these socks fit so thin and light. Second, you begin to realize how much you use your toes for support while running because they can move so freely. Lastly, they breathe really well and seem to be holding up nicely.

Try 'em out, at the very least you can wear flips w/ them!

It can be tough to get your toes in. It is also tough to get them off, but if you get blisters around your toes, then these are a life saver. They feel weird for a while, especially in shoes & boots that are a little tight in the toebox.

Comfy

Best temperature management and blister minimization. Get the dark colors to hide the dirt. Don't get the micro height if you are doing a lot of hills because the back heel may slowly slide down inside the shoe over long runs.

Great Socks!

By:
January 9, 2009

I love these socks! I wore them running and it felt fabulous to spread my toes out. I also wore them in other shoes and around the house and they were great! I will definitely be buying more! I ordered the Small and I wear a 8.5 shoe and they were a bit snug, but I like my socks like that. If you like room, I would definitely recommend going up a size.

I am not using these for running. I could not adjust to wondering where my other toes were. But they have become necessary for hanging around the house. Comforting. My wife likes them a lot!

Not as great for long skinny toes

By:
May 6, 2009

I have had problems with blisters on the ends of my toes and these were recommended to me. I read a bunch of positive reviews, so I got a pair. I haven't worn them extensively, but here is my first impression.
I have long thin toes, and I think these would be better for folks with shorter, wider toes. I felt like there was a lot of excess fabric between my toes, and the toes aren't long enough. (I think if I wore them with flipflops I would probably pull a hole in the area between my first and second toe.) I didn't get any irritation on the ends of my toes when I wore these, but I haven't worn them on a long run yet.
My other concern with these socks is the slipperiness of the fabric. I kept feeling like I needed to tie my shoes tighter and tighter because my feet slid more in my shoes then with other socks of a similar thickness.

They are worth it

By:
June 16, 2008

I brought one pair of Injinjis and two other brands to the Jungle Marathon, a seven day 135 mile stage race through the Amazon rain forest. Tough terrain swamps, water crossings, heat and humidity(perfect breeding ground for foot troubles). The other socks aggravated my feet within an hour of putting them on. I ended up wearing the same pair of Injinji socks for the entire 7 days(thats right, I put them on even when they were wet and muddy). I was utterly amazed and thankful, no blisters, no pain. There is no way, I would consider wearing anything but, Injinjis for a race. I also like that there is definite left and right socks and the color choices.

Blister free runs

By:
July 24, 2008

Blisters have haunted my feet throughout 25+ years of soccer seasons, as well as 1/2 marathon training runs and races. It finally came to individually wrapping each toe and heel with white athletic tape to prevent the blisters for any run over 3 miles. And then I happened upon Injinji socks at a recent race.

Admittedly, at first, I was a bit skeptical of toe socks; however, I have not used one strip of tape for two months and am blister free. These socks breathe well, are extremely comfortable, and are now the only running socks I own (I donated all my non-Injinji socks to charity). In addition, the fact that the socks have assigned right and left allow you to see where your shoes are rubbing excessively in order to prevent other foot injuries.

Personally, I love these socks and wish I had them 20 years ago.

Not sure completely.

By:
September 16, 2008

I order a pair of these in my size and had to return for a larger size. Maybe it is because I have longer toes, I don't know.

I have worn them once and need to loosen the toe box on my shoe some to make it a more comfortable fit, since obviously you have 2 layers of fabric between each toe.

Comfy enough, but not 100% sure these are right for me.

Great pair of socks.
Prevents blisters forming between your toes.
They're light and they breath well.
I've been trailing running & hiking in them and they work great.
They're also an everyday, around-the-house sock too!!

Very nice, but a bit pricey

By:
June 12, 2008

These are really nice! You can flex your toes a lot better, and no blisters either. Nice and cool. They are a little expensive for one pair of socks, though. Also, the performance material seems to wear through quickly. They should put extra fabric under the metatarsal heads and the heel. In all, though, I'm very glad I have these!

By:

I would regularly get toe-on-toe blisters on longer runs, but I've been blister-free since using these. Highly recommended for any athletic or non-athletic use.

Best Socks I Own

The only drawback is that they shouldn't be bleached or put in the dryer. They sure keep the toes warm in the winter!

So-So

By: Backcountry.com Employee
July 16, 2007

I bought a pair of these socks out of curiosity and mostly for the novelty, so I can't say I was disappointed. But, personally I don't see a real benefit to having my toes separated. It's a bizarre feeling (which goes away once you're running, biking, etc) and I can't say it's saved me from any blisters vs regular socks. After wearing and washing them only 2-3 times I can already see signs of deterioration in the material. On the other hand, they are very lightweight and are perfect if you want to throw them on after the sun goes down with flip flops.
