The Yakima Mighty Mounts allow you to attach Yakima racks to the factory rack of your car precluding you from having to buy the towers, crossbars, and clips otherwise required. To determine which kind of Mighty Mounts you need, please call our awesome Customer Service department.
Bottom Line: Here they come to save the day, Mighty Mounts are on the way.
yakima fit finder and backcountry can't answeer which vertical of the 13 models will my fit the subaru factory crossbar. i guess i wll need to go tot a store and carry each out to the aprking lot to try to attach. seems silly that both yakima fit finder and teh backcountry customer support both say to use the universal mighty mount when they make 13 types already. since subaru is well known ski car, they must have a mount. arghhh.
I can't seem to figure out what Vertical Mighty Mount I need for my 2007 Sante Fe. I've typed the information in to the Yakima site but it doesn't give me the option for mighty mounts on the factory racks.
What size vertical Mighty Mount for a 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5 X?
This car model has the removable crossbar system Subaru calls a "base carrier." It is NOT the permanently installed roof rack and "aero" crossbars of the Forester Premium.
Help! I want to use my old Big Powderhound but the old Mighties don't fit.
I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra with Yakima racks that need replacing but I can't seem to find. There is a pic of them fitting on the vertical mighty mounts but the rack is not listed anywhere???
I have 2000 Nissan Xterra with a factory roof rack and Yakima Big PowderHound ski rack. So which of the Mighty Mounts should I get to make it work together ?? Thanks
I have a 2002 Subaru Outback stationwagon and have lost a couple of the wing nuts for the roof mounted ski racks. I'm using some 1/4" 20 nuts, but am looking for what I need to order to replace those missing wing nuts. They are the rubber or plastic ones that have 1/4 20 nuts in them. Thanks.
Which size of a Vertical mighty mount should i buy if i have a 2004 toyota 4runner. I looked it up on yakima but no clear answer, they just want me to buy a new setup?
Since you didn't specify a year, you can go here.http://www.yakima.com/Consumer/Step1.aspxBut no, I don't think you use Mighty Mounts for that type of vehicle.
If I'm not mistaken, you need the Horizontal Might Mounts, not Vertical. More specifically you need the "Yakima MightyMount 25H" which is also available on Backcountry.com at this link.http://www.backcountry.com/store/YAK0078/Yakima-Horizontal-Mighty-Mount-Set-of-4.htmlTo double check you can enter your vehicle information here at Yakima.com....http://www.yakima.com/Consumer/Step1.aspx
Al,For your Denali, you're probably going to need the 25H (Horizontal) model of the Mighty Mounts. You can find these here: http://www.backcountry.com/store/YAK0078/Yakima-Horizontal-Mighty-Mount-Set-of-4.htmlHope that helps.
Since the Mighty Mounts are used to attach Yakima racks to the factory rack of your car, you can use this to attach Yakima snowboard and ski racks to your car. The picture's a little tricky since it shows the car, the factory rack, the Yakima rack AND the clips, but you would actually just be purchasing the clips.
I have a Subaru Outback (2000) with a factory rack, the oval-type crossbars. I also have a Thule 871 Fairing. However, the fairing has clips for a square rack.... How can I connect the fairing to my crossbars without having to buy an expensive (and unnecessary) new bar?
