X-Socks Light Trekking Sock - 2007

X-Socks designed the Men's Trekking Light Sock using variable-density zonal padding to ensure your feet maintain contact with your shoes. AirConditioning Channels, in conjunction with the Traverse AirFlow Channel system, work to keep your feet optimally cooled and bathed in fresh air to prevent blisters and reduce the onset of swelling and fatigue. Vertical-rod ankle padding provides additional support and protection without impeding the airflow around your foot. Instep, heel, toe, and Achilles protectors all buffer your foot from the specific forces generated by trekking over rough uneven terrain. As with all X-Socks, the Trekking Light sock features an X-Cross bandage that supports and protects the crucial muscles, tendons, and ligaments around your ankle.

Bottom Line: These lightweight socks offer heavy-duty protection.

Can't say enough good things

You just have to try these on for yourself to see what others are saying about these socks. Take your pick, they are all comfortable, snug, and good for your feet. I started with one pair and now have several in different styles.

Trekking Light Sock - Men's

By:
June 9, 2006

I purchased these X-Socks to try them out for my job. I am a security guard and I currently work an outdoor detail in the Deep South. The socks' materials and design are indeed unique. I've only recently purchased them but they do seem a good deal cooler than comparable socks of cotton. I'll continue to evaluate them on performance and wearability as time goes on, but so far, an excellent choice to keep cool.

DRY FEET

By:

The most important part of hiking is keeping your feet dry so blistering doesn't occur. I tested five pairs of socks (no other names needed) and this particular model from X Socks was the only one where I honestly felt like blistering wasn't starting after 2 hours of walking. That wasn't the case with at least two other pairs I tested.

Better than expected

I have to admit, I was cynical of these socks at first. The hefty price tag didn't seem worth it, but as promised, these socks are pretty rad. At first I didn't buy the whole story that they would keep my feet cooler and more protected, and at first, they didn't. My feet were sweating like a dirty cop at an Internal Affairs investigation; BUT I washed them a few times and now they do actually keep my feet super comfortable and cool. And, despite the heavy washings and lots of abuse (mostly skateboarding - not hiking) these socks still maintain their original shape, support, and cushion. My feet feel better in these socks and they seem to perform better. The support is killer. It's like having a comfortable compression band around your whole foot and ankle.
