dusty i recently got a used 1 and i bought a spray skirt from nrs, also it would work ok in class 2 but nothing bigger. i have a perception swifty 9.5 also that you can buy at dick,s sporting goods, i like it better as it is lighter 38lb,s vs 52 for the wilderness and you can buy a skirt for it also. also good up to class 2 and shorter at 9ft 6 in. if your interested in the wilderness i have a green 1 used good cond with skirt for 325..email is kickelrodney@aol.com

Seems harder to push through the water

I bought this for my wife's birthday with the idea that if I also liked it, I would buy another for me. I found it stable in the water. It tracks well and you can get it to go fast, but it seems like you are always pushing a little harder to keep it going. My wife noticed her arms were more tired than when she used the rental units.at our local lake. I found the same. Maybe the stability and good tracking comes with this price?
My wife found the seat comfortable but I did not. I thought it was inclined too far back. Might just need to fiddle with adjustments some more. The foot pegs work well and are easy to adjust.
Most of my experience has been in fiberglass Old Towne rental units which I find easier to keep going in the water.

A great kayak the Pamlico 120

We have two Pamlico 120 Kayaks. We selected this model after some research --- we wanted some specific featurs -- Stright tracking ---- its very easy to paddle and keep on line. Comfort -- we have bad backs and wanted comfotrable seating --- the seats are great with a good range of adjustment. and they had to be easy to get in and out of --- we are 68 and shifting over from a canoe and so cockpit size was important in this regard --- this kayak has met our objectives with flying colors

I tranport my 120 in a Ford F-150 upsidedown with stern at tailgate and bow pointing upward over cap. I use this approach because I am towing a camper and there is insufficiant clearance to extend Pungo over tailgate. Any ideas as to a cover over cockpit to cut down on drag? thanks.
