Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Quickdraw

The Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Quickdraw pairs two ultralight carabiners with an ultra-strong Dyneema sling for a burly, functional package that weights only 2.61oz. This quickdraw has full-size carabiners for easy clipping on hard sport routes, and the freeze-proof wire gates make them an excellent choice for use in the mountains. If you want lightweight draws but don't want to sacrifice performance, then the Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Quickdraw is ideal for you.

Bottom Line: Lighten your rack with the Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Quickdraw.

super light and just plain awesome

love the notchless biners cuz they don't catch on my harness or bolt hangars when cleaning. they're so light and the gates are smooth. i love climbing with them and they're pretty to boot! just wish they weren't so darn expensive...but you get what you pay for. :)

SUPERMAN SUPREME DRAWS!!!

By:
April 27, 2009

These draws are super awesome! Super light, you might even forget they're on your harness. With there super smooth gate, they afford you the ability to focus on your climb rather than if your going to get the rope through the gate on this clip or not. I love the stabilizer built into the webbing so as to keep that little sucker still while I make my clip, that's super sweet!! I'm a super fan of the Helium!!!

Surprised!

Wild and Helium sums it up. Durable smooth action biners, color coding is great, the non-slip insert on the sling is helpful, and of course super light. What more can you ask for these are it!

Very predictable, smooth and sweet

I am a fan of these draws, but must say that I started with them and did not experience any of the frustration others report- I just learned with them and find them very usable- clipping is always smooth and precise, and they are a pleasure to rack up with- the hooded latch does not hook on gear or hangars, you can fit 10+ on a gear loop, the gates do not chatter, and they're plain burly in spite of being so light- if you look at the specs, these carabiners are rated stronger than many lockers.

Another thing that sets these draws apart is the ropeside end of the dogbone- it's got a little elastomer thingy that secures the anodized carabiner in the draw such that it loads on the long axis of the rope-side 'biner every time.

Awesome gate, super light!!

By:

I really like these draws, I like the space they offer to put a rope through the gate when open for clipping. and the awesomeness of how light they are like said below is for a short time hard to get used to! I mostly use these for clipping in the chains since a lot of times they are the only draws on my harness when tradding single pitches.

Dream Draw

By:

This draw has everything you've ever wanted and expected. First off, they are lightweight but the ‘biners are full sized. None of this reduce weight by reducing size. The ‘biners are keylock so they come quickly off your harness without snagging, they clip smoothly into the bolt and clip like a dream. Since they are also wiregates, there is no worry of gate chatter. They are strong, 24kN, 9kN across and a huge 10kN while open! Lastly they are just pretty to look at and you just want to touch and play with them. These give Petzl Spirits a strong competitor as the best draw ever.

I used to be a loyal Petzl Spirit fan, but am now converted. These are a little pricey, but worth the $.

Sweetness

By:
September 22, 2006

These draw are sweet. Snagless clipping/unclipping every time. I even pulled a few apart to use the bina's for racking nuts. Light and fully functional. Highly recommended

These things are crazy lite almost to the point where they are too lite. Found hard to clip at first because I wasn't used to the weight. Once I got used to them I love them. Nice full size beaners. If you can afford them there isn't anything else out there that comes close.

Very fiddly and annoying to clip

By: Backcountry.com Employee
May 4, 2009

I really didn't enjoy clipping these draws. They were so light and narrow-profile that they were a pain to use. They were a little harder to pull off a gearloop because they are so spindly. If you should happen to bump the bottom biner when clipping the rope into them, they bounce around a lot more than normal draws. Frustrating.

I see a lot of people here talking about the weight savings, but how much will that affect you, the review-reader? I climb single pitch sport routes, so a little bit of weight savings won't mean squat to me. Unless you're loading up a ton of draws for super long pitches, I doubt the weight savings will mean anything to you either.
