Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Carabiner

Your knees are trembling and your arms are pumped, but the Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Carabiner saves you from the big fall with its easy-clipping design and light weight. Wild Country uses I-beam construction to lower this full-size carabiner's weight to a low 1.2oz without sacrificing strength. The Helium Clean Carabiner also has a covered nose profile to allow snag-free clipping and keep the gate from being pushed open accidentally. Whether you're clipping bolts, plugging cams, or swinging ice tools, these strong, lightweight carabiners should be hanging from your rack.

Bottom Line: Loose the weight and keep the strength with the Wild Country Helium Clean Wire Carabiner.

Wiregate Keylock!!!

By:
September 30, 2009

Super expensive but it's finally here: the lightness and gate reliability (low gate mass reduces accidental openings, they last long, etc.) and the wonderful simplicity and pump-saving keylock.

Best of both worlds - soon there will be little else on my rack.

Best Rope-End Draw Biner Made

By:
November 7, 2008

After a fairly extensive search, I found that these are hands-down the best (for me) rope end draw biner currently made. I use these on a Spirit sling with a DMM Shadow on the bolt end, which makes for possibly the nicest draw you can possibly buy (if you can part with the $27 per draw - ouch). These are easy to grab and clip quickly, with a super smooth gate action. Hooded notch-less nose (very cool for a wire gate) makes for snag-free operation, and they're wicked light. Production quality on these is top notch, which is no surprise since they are actually made by DMM for Wild Country. I won't use anything else now!

The strength ratings are on this page...24kn major axis, 9 minor axis, 10 open gate.1 kn is roughly 220lbs of force, so I don't think you will ever break this or any full strength carabiner sold on this website if used properly.

Good Choice

By:

Excellent caribiner--full-sized, strong and super light. The hooded nose is an added bonus--the nose is slightly wider than a non-wiregate keylock (like Petzl Spirit) but you still get similar no-snag performance. When you're carrying 10-12 Draws, the weight savings with these is significant without any trade-offs in performance.

Simply Excellent

By:
December 3, 2007

These are as I stated above, simply excellent. Super light, I mean crazy, wicked light. But not just that, they are full sized and feel great in your hand. Their size makes them comfortable to use even with gloves. I love the clean nose, it is one of those things all carabiners should, but don't have. Great strength and a nice rope bearing surface, so you shred your floss through this biner. Also the red just looks good. My one gripe might be the price, but it is just such a quality piece of hardware, I find it to be a great value all things considered.

Holy crap these are light. Slightly goofy gate action, so light…dude, they're light. They weight almost nothing, and they're expensive.

best wire biner

By:
May 15, 2009

I really like this biner. It light weight, and plently big for my fat fingers. I use these on the rope end of my cams. they clip just perfect and have the gate hook covered so it can not snag on grear and clothing. This is by far my favorite wire gate biner I own. the only con is the price over 10 bones each, but the performance of the biner makes it worth it IMHO

Best Biner Ever!

By:
January 26, 2009

This is the best carabiner I have ever used. I origionally bought one of theses for a friend for christmas. I liked it soo much I got him something else and kept the carabiner. I soon decided that from then on I was only buying Helium quick-draws and trad draws.
It does cost 3 or 4 bucks more than its cheeper competetitors, wait, competitors should be replaced with another word cause this carabiner blows all others away even without the hooded nose.
Why? Cause its lighter than others, (ok I know it isn't lighter than the nano's but imo those are best regulated to keychain duty)
It's as strong as superman.
It's not a keychain biner, we're talking a full-size, fits in your hand carabiner.
Has the best gate action I've ever felt.
Looks awesome.
And its Notchless! What more could you ask for!?
And, its really not that much more expensive... If you're buying 6 QD its going to be just about thirty bucks more to get these.. Thats thirty bucks to upgrad your decently good QD to the top of the line QD! Idk, but to me buying this carabiner over others is a no brainer..

sweet!!

By:
August 17, 2009

wide gate, covered nose, perfect shape, full size, super light ...all translates into smooth and quick clipping. i still have 15 or so other biners left on my rack, and i know i'll replace them all rather sooner than later. btw these biners look as sweet as they work.

Great 'Biner

By:
June 12, 2009

Been racking with these for a few months now, and I love 'em. They clip beautifully, and they're super easy to grab, even when you're panicked and thrutching. I alternate Heliums and Dovals on my rack for easy re-racking and visual inspection--it works great. The two 'biners practically fit into each other, which has all but completely eliminated the annoying tangling when carabiners bunch up on the gear sling. They're pricey, but they're totally worth it.

Light and Easy

By:
April 1, 2009

Wow, so I got a couple of these to rack nuts on, and boy am I impressed. They weigh next to nothing, and the non-snag nose keeps life hassle-free. They are so nice, I find myself showing them off to friends, grab one, you'll be impressed.

supa light

By:
November 9, 2008

These little suckas are light as a feather. The gate's a tad bit strong, but that's easy to get over once you grow a pair. Low nose profile is a big plus. These are wonderful biners.
