Volkl Polar Bear Telemark Ski - 2008

Volkl designed the Polar Bear Telemark Ski as a backcountry tool for those who like to earn their turns in deep snow and big mountain terrain. This ski’s 94mm waist guarantees float in soft, powdery conditions, while its lightweight construction lets you motor uphill for multiple laps or big tours. Given that this is the old mantra shape/design w/o the metal, how does it do holding an edge on firm/icy conditions. Chopped up crud? I'm assuming powder performance is great.

Just got those, before the sale though:( and I really love these skis. Light, responsive and easy to handle. good touring as well. Set up with Dynafit and have had no issues. The surface seem to get banged up quickly though. I ll watch out for that
