Volkl Gotama Jr. Ski - Kids'

When your small shredder progresses to the point of needing an adult all-mountain fat ski, except pint-sized, turn to the Volkl Kids’ Gotama Jr. Ski. This powder slayer boasts the same fat shape, burly construction, and rocker technology found in the adult version of the celebrated Gotama Ski, and it comes sized to help young ones develop their full potential.

  • Elongated Low Profile rocker design feels floaty and maneuverable in powder and maintains a solid edge in the hardpack
  • Sensorwood Core weighs little yet offers powerful and resilient performance
  • Power Construction combines vertical sidewalls with torsion box reinforcement for excellent grip and stability
  • Gentle rocker loves to float and a twin tip loves to rock out fakie-style
  • 80mm waist floats groms through the deep stuff and is still narrow enough for hardpack and terrain park turns

Bottom Line: When your kid starts throwing tricks and hucking things you never could, take a break from feeling old and inadequate and thank Volkl.

Hey, I am a pretty small freshman in highschool (5' 90lbs) and am looking for new skis. I would like something that performs well in bumps, trees, bowls, and groomers. I ski on mostly black/double black terrain in places like Colarado. I don't get to the park too much, so I am looking for more of an all mountain ski. Would these be good? What size?

Hi, we are on the verge of buying this ski for my 13 yr old.

Hi, we are on the verge of buying this ski for my 13 yr old. He is quite small, currently skis on a 138, so we are looking at a 148, but he is only 4'10 and about 92 lbs. He is an excellent Colorado skier, bumps, bowls and trees, but not park terrain. Would this ski be suitable for him?

If he loves powder, then these are great. They will probably not be what he is used to in the bumps, but they will manage alright. Powder, whether in trees or bowls, is gonna be where these are best suited for, so if that's his deal, they will be awesome.

I am a very short guy (4'10" 115lbs) and am a very good skiier. Not much a park and pipe guy. I prefer just all mountain skiing. Need help finding a high end ski that would fit my needs. I find adult skis are to long (156cm). Should I look for a high end kids ski or try to find a shorter adult ski? What particular skis does anyone recommend

Hey man,

Check out Icelantic ski company. They make short skis specially for tree runs and tight spaces, but they make really high quality and awesome looking skis. The Scout (which we don't carry) comes in a 143 length. And the Pilgrim comes in a 156. IF not that, I'd check out women's skis, the Line Pandora comes in a 152...

At the very least get him the 148cm length of this ski. I would almost say look for an adult ski that comes in something like a 156, since it would give him the float he wants, stability for powder, speed, and landings, and he could do some growing before you would have to replace his skis again. You can easily find an adult park ski, which are about the same waist dimensions as these, for him.
