Vasque Mercury XCR Trail Running Shoe - Men's - 2007

Ideal for the runner who's transitioning from the road to the trail, the Vasque Mercury XCR Trail Running Shoes blend ample cushioning, motion control, and weather protection into a lightweight, comfortable package. The Mercury running shoe's Gore-Tex XCR insert seals out water while allowing your feet to breathe on wet weather training runs. Vasque gave this trail running shoe a TPU injected forefoot plate so you won't feel every rock and root on your first trail day. Built on a Blur last, which has a straight shape, extra room for little toes, and ample cushioning, the Mercury trail runner is ideal for runners who need extra stability, have a lower arch, or a wider forefoot.

Vasque Model???I am considering mainly one of the Vasque trail models or the Keen Shellrock? I already know the blur is great but any recommendations

The Mercury is essentially the same as the Blur except that it has some added stability if you are not a neutral runner. I wear stability shoes on the road, but the Blur's for all trail running. I've ran lot of long runs (26 miles +) in the Blurs and they work great. I've also tried the Velocity VST and did not like it. Seemed to be really clunky.
